I want to leave a positive review about this place. The girl, blonde, was polite and demanded punctuality. Knowing how many people come there, she apparently has to cope with everyone. We spoke politely and I received the car keys and directions. The car was scratched on all sides, but this was indicated in the documents. I handed it over in another city and got the deposit back.
NO ALQUILES NUNCA AQUI. Falta de profesionalidad, nunca les han dado un curso de atencion al cliente? No cogen el telefono, no explican las cosas con claridad y cuando quieres reclamar te responden de malas maneras y sin darte una solucion. Puse una reclamacion por un cargo indebido y vaya, tenia por lo menos 500 hojas de otras reclamaciones. La senora rubia, que tiene quejas en las resenas desde hace mas de 5 anos, deberia plantearse cambiar o dedicarse a otro tipo de trabajo que no sea de cara a los clientes porque gracias a ella no volvere a alquilar con Avis en mi vida. Mucho mejor Enterprise en la estacion de tren, no lo dudeis.
DON'T EVER RENT HERE. Lack of professionalism, have they never given you a customer service course? They don't answer the phone, they don't explain things clearly and when you want to complain they respond in a bad way and without giving you a solution. I filed a claim for an improper charge and wow, I had at least 500 sheets of other claims. The blonde lady, who has had complaints in the reviews for more than 5 years, should consider changing or devoting herself to another type of work that is not customer-facing because thanks to her I will never rent with Avis again in my life. Much better Enterprise at the train station, don't doubt it.
NEFASTOS A NIVEL PROFESIONAL, PERO SOBRE TODO HUMANO. El pasado lunes hice una reserva web tras sufrir un accidente con mis dos hijos pequenos y quedarme sin coche a 2000km de mi casa. Al llegar alli, y no poseer tarjeta fisica (aunq si todos los datos y ofrecerme a pagar en efectivo o contactar less). La respuesta del personal de la oficina fue que "no iban a llamar a Londres a cambiar la poliza de empresa por mi" y a lo que les suplique con un "?Que hago?", senalando a mis hijos y las maletas, me responden "pues no se, lo que si se es que en AVIS no vas a alquilar un coche". No solo con esto, una semana despues y sin ningun tipo de aviso por parte del personal de la oficina de Gijon, tengo un cargo en mi tarjeta de 65EUR, cuando yo me presente en la oficina en tiempo y forma. Si has llegado hasta aqui leyendo, de verdad, no alquilen con Avis, hay otras opciones de caracteristicas similares.
DISFASTIC ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL, BUT ABOVE ALL ON A HUMAN LEVEL. Last Monday I made a web reservation after suffering an accident with my two small children and being left without a car 2000km from my house. When I get there, and not have a physical card (although I have all the information and offer to pay in cash or contact less). The response from the office staff was that "they were not going to call London to change the company policy for me" and to which I begged them with "What do I do?", pointing to my children and the suitcases, they replied " Well, I don't know, what I do know is that at AVIS you are not going to rent a car. Not only with this, a week later and without any type of notice from the Gijon office staff, I have a charge on my card of EUR65, when I showed up at the office on time. If you have read this far, really, do not rent with Avis, there are other options with similar characteristics.
Reservamos un coche para el dia siguiente por la web y lo dejamos pagado a un precio especifico. Llegamos a recogerlo al dia siguiente y resulta que no tienen el coche disponible y que en caso de tenerlo nos lo cobrarian..... x4 del precio que afirmaba la web!! Nos dice la encargada -sin ningun tipo de intencion de pedir disculpas o algo parecido- que es culpa nuestra por no haber leido los terminos y condiciones. Despues de hacer la reserva te la tienen que confirmar.... pero para eso tienen que mirar si hay alguna hecha, porque no se habian ni enterado. Total: sin coche para estar de vacaciones y la empleada dandonos un trato de verguenza. Es la rubia que en otras resenas mencionan. Nunca mas, Avis!!! Todo muy mal. Por cierto. Llame a Enterprise y me ofrecieron un coche mejor por 50EUR menos al dia de lo que me ofrecia la senora tan simpatica de Avis. Gracias y hasta nunca!
We reserved a car for the next day on the website and left it paid for at a specific price. We arrived to pick it up the next day and it turns out that they don't have the car available and if they did have it they would charge us... x4 of the price stated on the website!! The manager tells us - without any intention of apologizing or anything similar - that it is our fault for not having read the terms and conditions. After making the reservation they have to confirm it.... But for that they have to see if there is anything done, because they didn't even know about it. Total: no car to be on vacation and the employee giving us shameful treatment. It's the blonde that other reviews mention. Never again, Avis!!! Everything very bad. By the way. I called Enterprise and they offered me a better car for EUR50 less per day than what the nice lady at Avis was offering me. Thank you and see you never!
Fatal! Cometieron un error garrafal con mi reserva. Contrate una furgoneta de un tamano me ofrecieron la unica disponible de un tamano inferior, no me ofrecieron ninguna solucion. Me tengo que comer el marron. Es sabado, tenia organizado mover cosas y no puedo. Todo esto despues de ser yo la que llamo para confirmar la reserva y adaptarme al horario en el que tenian la furgoneta disponible, pero en ningun momento me dijeron que iba a ser mas pequena. Esto no hubiese pasado con enterprise, si no tienen el tamano que contratas te ofrecen otro mayor. Que mal! Terrible! They made a huge mistake with my reservation. All this after I was the one who called to confirm the reservation and adapt to the schedule in which they had the van available, but at no time did they tell me that it was going to be smaller. PONGO LA SEGUNDA RESENA. Mi empresa me alquila a traves de la agencia el coche en esta oficina de AVIS gijon. Me emiten un bono y yo pago en la oficina. Todos los empleados de oficinas de AVIS tanto en Gijon como en el aeropuerto me lo alquilan sin problema excepto la empleada rubia de avis Gijon que trabaja a su manera y me dice que aunque me lo este alquilando la empresa, si desde la empresa me ponen pago en oficina, no me puede alquilar el coche con ese descuento porque seria para uso personal. Como va a ser para uso personal si me lo estan alquilando DESDE UNA EMPRESA? Mi empresa dejara de alquilar directamente con vosotros porque aqui nadie se pone de acuerdo en la forma de trabajar. Cada vez que me atiende esta senora son solo problemas acabo de salir con el coche del garaje y me lo dieron con un clavo en una rueda, pinchado, nada mas salir del garaje tuve que parar el coche y estoy esperando por la asistencia en carretera. 5 min nada mas salir del garaje. La oficina ya esta cerrada por lo que mi unica solucion es esperar por la asistencia llegando tarde a mi trabajo porque lo alquile para eso. El coche por dentro sucio y con un ticket con datos personales de la persona que lo habia cogido antes. NO REVISAN LOS COCHES ANTES DE ENTREGARLOS con lo que eso conlleva sobre todo a las personas que lo contratamos para ir a trabajar fuera de Asturias. Evidentemente que pondre una reclamacion en consumo. llame a asistencia en carretera a la 13:20, son las 14:15 y no han llegado. Una hora esperando, por su falta de responsabilidad y profesionalidad no llego a mi trabajo.
I PUT THE SECOND REVIEW. My company rents me the car through the agency at this AVIS Gijon office. They issue me a voucher and I pay at the office. All the AVIS office employees both in Gijon and at the airport rent it to me without a problem except the blonde employee from Avis Gijon who works in her own way and tells me that even though the company is renting it to me, if the company pays me in the office, you can't rent me the car with that discount because it would be for personal use. How will it be for personal use if they are renting it to me FROM A COMPANY? My company will stop renting directly with you because no one here agrees on the way of working. Every time this lady helps me it's just problems I just left the car out of the garage and they gave it to me with a nail in one wheel, punctured, as soon as I left the garage I had to stop the car and I'm waiting for roadside assistance. 5 minutes as soon as you leave the garage. The office is already closed so my only solution is to wait for assistance, arriving late for work because that's what I rented it for. The car was dirty inside and with a ticket with personal information of the person who had taken it before. THEY DO NOT CHECK THE CARS BEFORE DELIVERING THEM, which means especially for the people we hire to go to work outside Asturias. Obviously I will file a consumer claim. call roadside assistance at 1:20 p.m., it's 2:15 p.m. and they haven't arrived. Waiting for an hour, due to their lack of responsibility and professionalism I did not get to work.

Never rent from Avis at the Gijon office. Instead, just head over to Hertz at the other end of the street (Anselmo Cifuentes). I used to rent cars on weekends from the Avis office. And I even recommended it to foreign friends who came to visit. Until we had ugly run-ins with the staffers, who are siblings (long-haired dude and his blonde sister). They chewed out a German friend who rented a vehicle for the weekend because he was 1/2 hour late. They chewed me out for returning a car after traveling into the mountains, where the chassis got dirty from the country roads. Never had this treatment from a rental office before. They are outright nasty with customers, so I've taken my business elsewhere. Their loss.
