Worst car rental company I have ever used. One tiny scratch on a rim, which was already there: 261 euros. If you rent here, make sure you have insurance and take pictures of every part of the car (including the interior).
Helpful friendly staff. Orlando helped us to solve a small problem at the beginning of the rental and it was nice to see him again when we returned. Would certainly use this company again. Obrigado to the team at Faro.
Even though the pick up location was Faro Airport the office is not there so you get shuttled from the airport. Despite the directions provided where to find the shuttle it's not that easy. The actual shuttle was labelled SurPrice rent a car, the company which handles the check in and return ,and this was pointed by a helpful driver of another company. The so-called helpline is a prerecorded message which just repeats the same instructions. It took an hour from exiting the airport to picking up the car and you have to wait in the scorching heat for the shuttle. The agent who checked us in was very professional. There was another person who handed us the car and he tried to rush me through the damage checks. And believe me there were LOTS of marks on this vehicle. When we returned the vehicle, much like everyone else ,a small paint chip the size of a rice grain was uncovered and it was pointed that would cost me PS158. That was on a body panel which already had 3-4 marks on it. Luckily I was composed enough and had more time on my rental to go to a detailing place and get a touch up pen which hid the mark however it was real stressful. The charge was escaped however another person who was returning the car at the same time was charged 250+ euros for the tiniest scrape at the door edge. If you decide to rent from this company please please please take your time and be thorough with your initial check-in walk around and take as many photos as possible. EDIT : For some reason the company has taken PS2.26 from my Credit Card a whole month after returning the car. Luckily I caught them quick and was able to get a refund. If you're planning on renting please save yourself the hassle and choose another Oh and by the way all the "positive" reviews are clearly fake , especially the ones mentioning their Names , Jose , the manager etc. none of them wear name tags or actually give you their names
We enjoyed the car. Transfer from OPO to the rental station was not easy to find and help desk was not so helpful in case noone takes the phone. However we managed to find the shuttle bus after some unnecessary delay. Please put some signs to the pickup point. Thank you.
Orlando was great! Speedy, helpful and great car
Surprise were very efficient when we got to deal with them direct. Jose Osorio made the car drop off a very simple task and was very professional. The lady in the office at Surprice was also so helpful and explained things in detail unlike the broker we had booked through.
We already rented a car several times in Portugal with other car rental companies and never had any problems. Unfortunately, we had the same bad experience as many others have mentioned here in the reviews when we rented a car for the first time at Drive4Move (they are also linked to SurPrice Car Rentals). The pick-up of the car at the reception desk was OK and we mentioned to each other that we could rent a car with this company again in the future. The car did already have a lot of damages and there were also little spots of dirt. I went around the car together with the employee who was marking the damages on the paper. He missed a damage on the roof rail of the car, which I pointed out and asked to mark it on the paper as well. But unfortunately, I myself, did not look thoroughly enough to the wheels and the lower part of the car. When we returned the car, we had the same person to check it. Within less than 1 minute he accused us of a scratch on the wheel rim, that according to him, was not there before because he had not marked it on his paper and he said that he had checked the car very thoroughly (note: the damage on the roof rail would also not have been indicated on the paper if I hadn't point it out to him). We had to pay 202,99 EUR which we did because we definitely wanted to have our security deposit of 2460 EUR back and we wanted to be on time on the airport for our flight. There were also other people who didn't have a problem, so of course they will leave a good review. But what else can you do you if they pick you out and accuse you of a damage you didn't cause when you have to be at the airport in time, you can do nothing else than pay and they know that. We contacted the company before leaving this review, we got the same kind of response as you can find on the other bad experiences reviews here. We will need to rent a car several times in the future, but we will never book at this company again.
Scammers check the car very carefully.3 tiny black dots on the bumper which were already there and I couldn't see them cost me EUR190.use them at your peril.you will have to zoom in!!
