Auto Rent - Faro Airport in Faro

While AutoRent could be an outstanding car rental agency, the manner in which the agent harassed me for not accepting their auto insurance was a major turn off. It is not clear to me whether the issue lies with the company or the employee (F), but the employee made it clear that I would be liable for every little mark on the car and haphazardly explained where the existing damages were. This literally forced me to rub every little mark on the dusty exterior to check whether there was a scratch and to even get on my knees to check the lower part of the car. The experience was extremely unpleasant and I was worried that I would be made liable for scratches that I missed and are not of my fault. The prospect of being harassed when returning the car stressed me out throughout my trip, so I had to call the rental platform before returning the car and ask for help. AutoRent (the company) needs to realize that it is not easy for people who already purchased insurance from the reservation platform to cancel the purchase. Customers do not have any information about AutoRent's insurance policy when making reservations through the platforms, so if AutoRent is not happy that customers are buying policies from the platforms, it needs to address the issue with the platforms instead of getting back at customers. Why be a 1-star agency when you can clearly gain much more being 5-stars?

Very very simple process and good value. Paid for the insurance to cover damages and the staff basically said 'ok you're good to go' - unlike other rental experiences I've had where they try to scare you into spending more money or putting down a huge deposit. I'm not looking for a 2024 car with 20 miles on the clock where I'll lose PS2k for going over a speed bump!! Gave me great peace of mind on my holiday.

We've used Auto Rent a number of times in Faro and never had a problem. Excellent service from nice people. Pick up at airport carpark and 5 minutes later collecting car from office. Could not be easier. Excellent service and price.

Rented a Fiat 500 for 4 days. Everything from picking up the car to bringing it back went smoothly! Everything was as expected, the car was relatively new and had no problem with it.

Very professional, polite and open. We had no problems whatsoever with the pick-up or with the return. We also rented the car for a very good price compared to other big companies.

It was a smooth experience with Auto Rent. Picked up at P4 with transfer bus marked with their logo. The rental car was clean and quite new. Some under-motorized (1.0 liter 110 HP) Fast check out and in process. Deposit released immediately. Pleasant staff and relaxing atmosphere.

Auto Rent were great for our stay in Portugal. They provide a reliable and quick shuttle service from P4 of the airport and it only takes 5 minutes to get to the office. They are very professional and transparent about damages and fuel policy. I would recommend going through a comparison site for a discount and opting for third party excess insurance e.g Eversure to save money but their full insurance prices were reasonable. I will use them again when I return to Portugal.

Great experience. The car was clean and new. Seamless experience during pickup and dropoff. No surprises. It appears to be the kind of company that still applies common sense--I hope it continues to be the case every time I rent from them, which might be many more.
