Europcar in El Medano

I would like to express my greatest thanks to the employee who assisted me when renting a car. The gentleman was extremely nice and professional, thank you very much. The car also exceeded my expectations. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely use your services again.

After we returned the car in flawless condition, we headed back home from our holiday. Apart from a very unfriendly service at the airport, they took around 200 euros from my bank more than 3 weeks after the car was returned. No reason given yet. Contact not possible at all. They just took it. I am now waiting for over 2 months to get the money back. It is very disappointing and sad.

I do not recommend europcar. I was charged additional fees, approximately EUR 200 for 4 days of car rental. The rental company claims that it is the cost of additional insurance, although I bought the insurance earlier and it is included in the bill. It looks like I paid for the insurance twice. I was not informed about this when picking up the car. I only found out after the money was taken from my credit card. This company is one big scam.

Rent a car for 5 days, everything was fine expect the scam that they pulled on us. Because of 15minutes charged us one more day. No Europcar ever again. P.S. Customer service did not recognize my claim. They give different information when you pickup the car to when they return it!

SCAMMERS. Would give 0 if was possible. They don't explain anything, even tho car was booked and paid for (with insurance) they charged 400EUR after returning the car for *premium insurance that I never agreed to (why would I but premium if I already paid for insurance). You get none of that explained to you and get handed a contract that's not even in English to quickly signing and that's it. Customer service doesn't do anything saying that contract was signed, even though, according to the law they're supposed to explain the contents of what you're signing.

1) The car we got was a new model and had good quality and was driving good, BUT 2) the woman at the counter was absolutely unfriendly 3) tried to scare me into getting insurances which I told her multiple times I already have from where I booked from . She still tried to scare me by saying how many thousands of euros they can take with the smallest of damages immediately....nearly took it because of these scaring tactics even though I had already one, glad I didnt. 4) I drove the safest way possible, no damage at all, filled up the car completely full and returned it in the correct time at night, yet they still took some 100 euros from the credit card for yet unknown reasons. Still waiting for a response.

After waiting for another car hire company to get back to me (still waiting), I decided to book with Europcar and it was pretty straightforward finding and booking a car for the week. Great price and a great car (a free upgrade) that I was very happy with. There is a EUR500 deposit, which was paid back quickly, so be prepared for that. Card payments abroad cost extra. The staff were friendly and very efficient. My first time at Europcar and it was an excellent experience.

We rented a Volkswagen Taigo for 4 days and we're very happy we chose for Europcar as rental agency. Diego explained everything clearly and was very friendly to us. He even told us some great beaches, restaurants and other places we certainly had to visit. Of course we followed his advice and had a really nice time discovering the island. Returning the car also went smoothly and it took only 5 minutes. No discussions or other tricks... We had a great experience and would certainly recommend hiring your car here.
