National Car Rental in Durango

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! I have been a loyal client for national for over 10 years with at least 2-4 rentals a month. I rent from National Rental Cars nationwide and this place is absolutely the worst... I was billed for damages that were absolutely not done by myself. I had no options to fight this.. take it from me... take 1-2 min out of your day to TAKE VIDEOS of the whole car during pickup... its sad you have to do this... now Im stuck paying thousands out of pocket because i don't want my insurance to go up... SAD.. I cant wait for your STANDARD REPLY TO ALL CONCERNS down below that i see with all the other concerns that are listed on your reviews....

As a loyal National rental customer for 25 years and a business Executive Elite member, I recently encountered a profoundly disappointing experience at this National Rental location at the Durango Airport. Despite my long-standing history and executive privileges, I could not secure the necessary vehicle at this small airport. The staff had only one car available, which did not meet my requirements, and despite my diamond/Executive status, no other option was offered. My concerns were met with disrespect from the branch manager, Savannah Willaims, as she stormed out of her office, chastised me in front of others, and refused to offer any alternative solution! Savannah exhibited passive-aggressive and condescending behavior. This interaction left me feeling upset and disappointed, leading me to incur a $93.77 Uber ride fare after she told me, "We have no cars for you; go to Avis." I was so distraught. I have decided not to patronize this establishment unless substantial management changes are made. I also intend to document my experience in a detailed letter to National's corporate office, and I am open to direct communication with National executives to discuss this matter further. It is fundamental to recognize that exceptional customer service is pivotal to any organization. It is the heartbeat!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. They will send you a bill for damages you did not do to your rental car. I've rented multiple rental cars and have never had such a negative experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND TAKE MULTIPLE PICTURES AND VIDEOS AT DROP OFF AND PICK UP because they are fraudulent thieves.

Wish I could give zero stars. Nightmare comes to mind. Arrived in Durango, CO on May 16th and we were told by a female working that day that we did not have a reservation. My husband called the Executive desk at National/Enterprise and confirmed that we DID have a reservation. Unfortunately there were no other cars available to rent until the following day. However, that was not guarenteed either. What were we supposed to do? Clearly the lady lied to us or was completely incompetent. Apparently someone without a reservation had priority. She couldn't find my husband in the computer either as a long time Emerald Club member ( since 1992). Had to rent from Budget which had one car available for a much higher rate. Instead of paying $200.00 for 3 days, we paid over $500.00. Thank you National/Enterprise. Great customer service. Very disappointing.

Always a great experience at National Car Rental in Durango, CO. at the airport. Benjamin has helped me the last couple of times and he is always very professional, polite and a pleasure to work with. I will continue to rent through National at DRO.

Whatever you do, dont rent from National, Enterprise or Alamo at the Durango airport! They are all 3 at the same counter and owned by the same management company. 3 weeks ago the only car they had to give me had a low tire, which they knew, so they gave me the roadside # for "when it goes low again". It was flat the next morning, and they had no roadside available for over 2 hours. Yesterday when I arrived, on my rescheduled flight, which I had called the 800# to update my arrival details once it was changed, Kyra, the Manager informed me "we gave your car to someone else because you were supposed to he here 4 hours ago" She then handed me a card, and said email is the best way to reach us, try Hertz, they have cars. I stood there dumbfounded, absolutely speechless, and she added, "can you please move so I can help my next customer?"!!!! Kyra could care less that I am Executive, rent 2-3x/week from National, or if I had a ride from the tiny airport, to the hotel or appointment I flew in town for the next morning early. She definitely doesnt care if I ever rented from them again. I am still in shock that this happened. Thanks Hertz for being so kind and saving my night and trip!

Over the years, I have enjoyed superb service at the Durango airport from National Car Rental. This was again the case this year with two excellent experiences with them. Courteous and attentive, the employees are a pleasure to work with. The cars are clean and well maintained. My only small complaint is that their inventory of vehicles is smaller than in past years. Having a few more trucks available at this largely rural and snowy location would be a plus for their business.

I use National Car Rental exclusively and am always pleased with their cars and their service. The app and website are so easy to use and make arrival and departure a snap. Being an Emerald Club Member my selected car is waiting for me when I arrive, nothing to do but show my driver's license and drive away. Upon departure I just give them the keys and I'm off. Staff are always friendly, professional and helpful. Thank you for your great service.
