The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help meet our dates and needs. Their Jeeps were in great condition and took us to see parts of the untouched countryside that I have never seen before. We will certainly use them again on our next trip to Durango.
We took a jeep trip up into the mountains to enjoy the fall scenery. The colors were beautiful, our guide,Jay, was excellent, and our group of six was great! We even saw them on our train trip back to Durango. There were some health issues for one traveler and a fear of heights for another. Jay was just terrific in handling both! He was caring but didn't make a big issue of either. Just took the time to make sure everyone was doing okay and made it a good experience for all. It was a terrific day!
We booked the guided Mesa Verde trip for our family of four. Our guide was Lee, he was INCREDIBLE!!! A wealth of knowledge, kind, considerate, engaging, and wonderful with our two small children (7 and 10) who at times have endless questions. He really made the history come alive for all of us and definitely made the trip a fun historical adventure! He was just wonderful to work with and made the entire experience one we will never forget. This was our first experience with a guided tour and we will definitely do this again. Not having to worry about driving, navigating the park traffic, getting lost, or not making it to the our scheduled palace tour on time was a huge relief. Everything was planned for us, including lunch. We just had to show up and enjoy!
This was a fantastic adventure! I think mild wild is the way to go if you're planning to ride the Durango Silverton train. You get an awesome trip from Durango up to Silverton in a van shuttle with an expert driver. Our driver was Mr Lee. He did an exceptional job of informing us, and taking great care of us during our trip up to Silverton, and our subsequent jeep adventure thereafter. To say it was an incredible adventure is an understatement. It made such a difference having an expert guide along the way. I consider myself a very good driver. My profession is truck driving so I have accumulated a vast number of miles in my 20 years of experience, but you don't get to enjoy it like you would if you were a passenger. Also, I usually have great anxiety when others are driving and not myself, but not with Mr Lee he made me feel at ease and confident in his ability right away. It takes a lot of training and wisdom to be able to handle those mountains, and especially the off-road Terrain which Lee was trained in. I believe I would have had too much anxiety, and not enjoyed the trip as much, had I just took the forerunner up the mountain myself for the first time. It's such a pleasure to have someone else drive and just enjoy the scenery and knowledge they share. It also gave me more confidence that maybe next time I might decide to Drive it out myself. I swear the whole time my wife and i kept feeling like we were in a painting or a movie. It didn't seem real the beauty that we were surrounded by. Fortunately any time we wanted to stop, and at different times where he knew really cool things were, he would let us get out and touch colorado and explore. We ran into lots of folks that were adventurers. Making a go of it by themselves, and not doing a very good job at it. I think I probably would have cussed them myself for the way they were driving, but Lee was a constant professional and made sure to keep us out of harm's way. We got to see all kinds of old mine camps and mines. It was so cool just to really feel like your part of something so beautiful. He would often times pull off and show us an amazing scenery that we wouldn't have caught had we not known where to look. He would then offer to take our picture and did so frequently throughout the trip. When our time ended with Mr Lee we were left to explore Silverton on our own, and enjoyed the various shops and lunch at a realy good restaurant "Handle Bars". We had a delicious elk burger, mud pie and bread pudding dessert. We then caught the train back to Durango. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!! You just don't get to see this stuff unless you're on that train. The mountains, the waterfalls, the wildlife, just incredible... We wouldn't have missed it for the world. However, I do believe that it would not be nearly as fun trying to ride the train up from Durango, and back down again three and a half hours each way. That's just too much... The Mild to Wild jeep adventure and train is the only way to go! If you are as fortunate as we are, maybe you will get Mr Lee too. Happy trails friends!
We loved our jeep tour from Silverton, CO, that took us to some amazing places we would have never seen. Our guide, Tosh, was great. He was super cool and gave us information about the local plant life, and history behind what we were seeing on the tour. We had an awesome time and enjoyed every minute. Thank you Tosh, for making our experience an unforgettable one! Nikki and Stephen, Galveston, TX.
We went on the Silverton Jeep Tour and it could not have been more perfect. Our guide, Jay, was wonderful! He knew everyone's name and made an extra effort to ensure all riders got what they wanted out of the trip. After our first stop, the vehicle had an issue and Jay brought us back into town safely and swapped vehicles. He took us back out and made sure we enjoyed the full tour. We were looking for a way to enjoy the scenery without the effort and this tour did exactly that! Even my teenagers enjoyed it, taking pictures all along the way!!
We had an unforgettable 4-day trip down the Cataract Canyon with Max, Jeff, Annie and Annie during the fourth of July weekend. The route is scenic and the river refreshing. Our guides made this trip extra special. They are thoughtful, friendly and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time: Games, laughter, and stories by the fire, under the starry sky. We're still impressed with the lavish meals prepared throughout the trip. We were able to raft class 4 rapids on Day 3 and had a blast! Mild to Wild was more accommodating than expected. Thank you for creating these beautiful memories with old friends and new friends!
I had an amazing experience rafting desolation canyon with Mild to Wild. Our guides Abigail, Aniela, Adana, Peyton and Luis were incredible. As a group of 19 ladies, some experienced and some not, we collectively felt safe and well taken care of by our guides throughout the four day trip, and also had so much fun with them. I didn't want to say goodbye at the end of the trip. The meals they prepared for us were consistently great, there's nothing like fresh fruits and veggies in the desert! I am so glad I went on this trip. It was truly the trip of a lifetime!!
