Stayed here for 12 days while my husband and I had our navigator in the shop. Hot breakfast every morning. Staff was wonderful. They all knew just to charge the open card we had on our account daily since any day the shop could call with our car ready. We had HBO and many other direct TV channel to watch. We relaxed in the hot tub daily. They got dove shampoo and conditioner. Dove facial soap. The cucumber melon kind. A small store upfront with snacks and drinks. A pool. A gym. Ice machines . On site laundry. A movie theater just right on side of the hotel. All the girls we great to my husband and I. Even the male staff treated us well.
Booked a room last minute and it was good. Clean room/hotel, nice shower. If I had to complain the bed was much too soft and pillows too fluffy for my liking but otherwise I enjoyed my stay at this dog friendly hotel.
When we arrived at this hotel at 530 pm on 9/20/2024, we were assigned a room and went up to the room and the door was propped open and it was not cleaned or ready. We politely asked the housekeeping staff who was a female with glasses and male with glasses who very rudely stated to my fiance and I "we gave that girl downstairs a list of rooms that were ready and so no we aren't done with it. i don't know what to tell you!" I went back to the front desk to inquire about the confusion. She very politely and profusely apologized to us for the room not being ready and the horrible rudeness we received from the housekeepers. She then showed me the list that was given to her from housekeeping as the room she had given to us was on the list of "ready rooms" from housekeeping. She then notified us that she did not have any other rooms to switch us to. I had a company meeting I had to attend at 6pm so i told her i would go change clothes and leave our bag in the room and they would be able to finfish the room. We went back up to the room and proceeded to notify the original housekeeper female and she as well as a different female housekeeper dressed in all black again very rudely stated to us "we will get to it when we get to it, we are short staffed so i don't know what to tell you". I politely responded that i was just letting them know that we will be leaving shortly and going to leave the bag and then they could finish when i was interrupted for the girl in black to say "its your room you can do what you want!" I changed and left for my meeting. Upon our return approx. 830pm, we come to the room that STILL HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED AND THE BED NOT MADE! The front desk clerk was the same from earlier that evening and i expressed to her that the room was still not cleaned and bed not made. She was obviously very upset that this had happened to us and offered herself to go up and clean the room and make the bed. I refused for her to do this as truly this should have been done by housekeeping and was not her responsibility. She even stated to me that the original housekeeper threatened her on the jobsite after she had confronted her about the treatment of us! I was provided with a clean set of sheets and i HAD TO MAKE THE BED MYSELF! I am a traveling RN and stay in hotels every other week for the entire year in cities all over the state and this customer service was the WORST i have ever dealt with!!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone i know. As for the room itself, overall it was dirty, dusty, hard mattress, cracked screen on the TV, and on top of everything else the hot tub was broken. We had originally planned to stay 2 nights and decided to leave that next morning and stay somewhere else due to horrifying experience we received. This hotel does not deserve the 3 stars it has. The ONLY good experience we received was from the front desk clerk who was very polite and apologetic for our experience and strongly encouraged us to reach out to Janean "the manager". Overall and horrible stay and we will never stay here again.
Walking Distance to Ska Brewing - great patio, food, drinks, service. Right next to the river and river rec trail. Close to downtown without the noise and crowds. Nice place, but like most hotels that claim they are strictly no-smoking...they have smoking areas directly outside their doors and it is just awful. I wish hotels would make their properties completely smoke free...why in heavens name would a smoke free hotel accommodate smokers...why would anyone accommodate smokers
To the management that oversees this property and management and staff of this individual property. As we drove up to the property there were weeds everywhere! Thistle 2-3 feet tall all around the building. Other weeds growing over the sidewalks. When we went to check in we were greeted with a smile but it continued to go downhill! We are members, as we stay with La Quinta when we travel often with our dog. They did not have our reservation attached to our membership. This was not this staff person fault but she was unable to help fix the situation. I had to call La Quinta membership to resolve the issue. Staying for 4 nights, I asked what the cleaning schedule was. She replied "you can request but I don't know if we will be available". We arrived to our room, fairly cleaned. No bottom mattress cover, hair in shower, only 2 sets of towels for 4 nights! Pillows definitely needing replacing. First morning we came down for breakfast at 6:30am. What a joke. 5 pieces of bread, no milk, no plates, no forks. The only fruit they had was green apples with plastic knives to cut them!. And no one attending and or cleaning the breakfast area. The following day breakfast was worse! Even less food! We talked to the manager and she stated the truck did not come in, she had the kitchen person quit that morning without notice. We asked why didn't anyone just go to Walmart, next to the hotel, and get a loaf of bread and milk. She stated she has worked 10 hour days and she was not going. There were several guest complaining. |May I remind you this is a customer based business. It is your job to make sure your customers are getting services stated by you and your customers are heard and happy. As a guest, it isn't our job to hear your management vent about their jobs!!!|We will not ever return to this hotel nor will we return to other La Quinta hotels for poor attention to this property and poor and lack of staff training. There are plenty of other hotels that will take our money and give us better customer service!
Driving up we thought wow this property isnt what it was when we stayed here before. We checked into this hotel given floor on first floor and the room that they gave us smell like urine so they transferred us across the room to another room that also still smell like urine. The room was wasn't they clean it smelled too and it was very disappointing as we had stayed here before and it was a lovely place back then. When you walk down the first floor all the doors up like they've been beaten up. They need to be taken in care of by repainting them or something cause it looks so bad. The outside the hotel is rundown and the landscaping is awful as it is nothing but weeds everywhere. The dog area had no dog bags and was loaded with dog poop. I wouldn't take my dog in there because I wouldn't want my dog to get sick. One of the front desk clerks was very rude she wouldn't give me her name and try to tell me she was a manager one of that she isn't a manager. I am going up there because they only have two small carts and one bigger cart to take your stuff down and we were on the third floor. One of the ladies had her baggage on that part and was sitting in the dining room eating instead of taking her stuff out and putting it back in her car and putting the car back for others to use. This person at the front desk got involved in some thing that we had spoken to another girl about and started being very confrontational and rude to me and yelling at me that I need to stop and quit asking about it. My sister was still at the table when she saw that woman go over to the woman with the cart with the luggage and called me a bitch and started saying all kinds of terrible things about me. I had left my ice packs in their freezer because they are a little refrigerators no longer have freezers and I didn't talk to the one girl that was rude I talk to the other girl but then the rude girl got involved and started saying all kinds of bad things and my sister said I heard what you said to that lady that had the cart with the baggage and u said bad things about my sister. You called her a bitch and all kinds of stuff. That clerk called my sister a liar and my sister says I am not a liar I heard what you said and she threaten to call the police on us and we told her to go ahead. We spoke to the true manager and the manager was very kind and took all my information in she had been moved from the Arizona to this La Quinta to come and get this hotel on the ball , but they're having trouble finding employees. Crystal the mgr us a great person. I like this manager very much. She tries hard to help everyone. Crystal after first day in original room and issues there she moved us upstairs to a quieter room and upgraded us into a suite from all the problems that we were having. I was appreciative her. Unfortunately, I don't recommend going to this hotel unfortunately because the staff are up front are horrible and back stabbers. They lie and dont want to help you with anything they should be helping you with in the hotel. The girl impersonating manager needs to be fired and is threatening. Also the pillows were as hard as rocks . I tried to get them to give me some softer pillows, but the ones that they gave us still were very hard and beds were hard too. So with all this I give this hotel a poor rating though. I give Crystal there temporary GM a excellent rating how she treated us.
The employees were fantastic! I had a horrible experience with another hotel but the employees here called me to check on me to make sure it wasn't a domestic violence situation. I was so incredibly grateful for their concern and care. We felt extremely safe at this hotel and it was newly remodeled. We loved going to the movie theater right behind the hotel. We were grateful for a working pool but it was pretty cold and my daughter scraped her foot on the rough steps into the pool. Other than that we were really pleased with our stay!
After a long day of travel we arrived at 430 to find housekeeping was behind and our room hadn't been cleaned yet. So we went out for an early dinner and walked around downtown. Came back around 8 exhausted and ready to relax. Got up to our room to find it was still dirty! No bedding on the bed, trashcan on the dresser. So return back to reception to change rooms. The room itself was spacious. Bed was insanely hard though and the tiny pillows almost felt like a joke. Slept absolutely horrible. Breakfast was fine. Nothing noteworthy or horrible about it. Can't say I'll ever book with La Quinta again after this trip. For the price I feel they could definitely step up their game as we booked this hotel because it was a slightly lower price point than other hotels but next time I'd pay the additional $30 in hopes of better service.
