Please don't turn the AC off at night. I'm fat I can't sleep. Hotels that control the temperature of my room for me get a 1 star rating. Your green energy BS is crap. The motion sensor thermostat is ridiculous. Around midnight the AC shuts off from the motion sensor. I get up, move around the room. It doesn't turn back on. I pull the stupid card out of the stupid slot by the door and put it back in like when we got here. That didn't work. I turn the thermostat off and back on it finally turns on for a few seconds and shuts back off again. At the bare minimum can you at least set these useless thermostats to have constant fan control? To be clear the AC unit functions fine, there are no issues with it besides managements control of it. I'm so glad I used points for my stay. If I had put the stay on my card I would have actual recourse. And that would just take up additional time and cause additional frustration.
The staff here is absolutely amazing. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. I ended up getting sick during our stay they were the nicest most accommodating people we have ever experienced at a hotel. Everyone deserves raises and praises. We love yall.
Really irritated with all the fees and payments we had to do. $10.00 per night for parking. $10.00 per person for breakfast at the hotel. $4.00 fees for improvement fee. * Hotels should provide parking for their customers. Where else do they expect us to park... * They ask for $50.00 up front just in case if something gets damaged in the room. But in reality they just plan to take your money either way. * The water pressure in the hotel rooms are horrid. It was irritating that they set a setting on the water. Guests should have the freedom to enjoy and feel cozy, not controlled. * The ice machine was so loud. We heard the machine constantly going off and it was not peaceful. Really disappointing honestly. My husband and I wanted to do a small getaway without our kids as we have not been able to get away in over 2 years.
The lady at the front desk when checking in was super nice and helpful (I completely forgot her name because I was exhausted after a 12 hour road trip, but she was working the night of October 19th, 2024). The hotel is very dog friendly with a 3 acre dog park a little hike behind it. The room was comfortable and clean, but the TV would do a weird thing and turn off then immediately back on every couple of hours or so...not a big deal because we were just staying the night before continuing our trip. If we are ever visiting again we will definitely look at staying here again.
Rooms were clean and roomy... I found the staff to be friendly and helpful! The water pressure was awful! And the cleaning service didn't make the bed or replace our washcloths, they pulled the blankets up and gave us more hand towels. Their breakfast buffet that was ten dollars is free at other hotels. It's a continental breakfast without the waffles! The service staff was awesome in the restaurant too! The name is deceiving, there is another Holiday Inn close to downtown that should have that name. We wanted to stay within walking distance to the train and dining. All in all it was a good place though.
Positive: Overall the appearance in cleanliness of both the hotel lobby in our room were very acceptable. Negative: After checking out the room, we realized the sleeper sofa had no sheets, blankets, pillows or anything. We asked the only very new employee working that evening to provide these and after three attempts, over three hours finally got them at 9:45pm.
Check-in on the afternoon of October 1 was very slow. We were passed from one person to another, which took up a considerable amount of time. The clerks obviously didn't care. ||That night, dogs were barking in an adjacent room. My wife called twice to report the issue, I called once. Nothing changed. When I went to the front desk the next morning to register my complaint, I was told the customer had left two dogs in the room unattended, but the staff could not enter the room. Try to figure that one out. I was told they called animal control, but they could not come out until 10 am the next morning. If the staff could not access the room as I was told, how was animal control going to get in? ||Bottomline, the hotel ignored the very clear needs of its guests, which resulted in a sleepless night for my wife and me. Having traveled extensively for over 50 years, we have never encountered a situation like this. It is a poorly managed hotel that does not care a snit about its guests.
The hotel itself is very nice, but for a couple of factors we would've given it a five. The rooms were nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They answered every question we had and we're able to give us directions. Our only complaint was that one of the elevators was out of service, which made it a bit difficult when the tour bus was dropping off people laid in the evening. The other issue was the attached restaurant would need the breakfast there but dinner and beer were excellent. All things considered. We enjoyed our stay, which was an extended stay and we will go back.
