Please don't turn the AC off at night. I'm fat I can't sleep. Hotels that control the temperature of my room for me get a 1 star rating. Your green energy BS is crap. The motion sensor thermostat is ridiculous. Around midnight the AC shuts off from the motion sensor. I get up, move around the room. It doesn't turn back on. I pull the stupid card out of the stupid slot by the door and put it back in like when we got here. That didn't work. I turn the thermostat off and back on it finally turns on for a few seconds and shuts back off again. At the bare minimum can you at least set these useless thermostats to have constant fan control? To be clear the AC unit functions fine, there are no issues with it besides managements control of it. I'm so glad I used points for my stay. If I had put the stay on my card I would have actual recourse. And that would just take up additional time and cause additional frustration.

The staff here is absolutely amazing. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. I ended up getting sick during our stay they were the nicest most accommodating people we have ever experienced at a hotel. Everyone deserves raises and praises. We love yall.

Really irritated with all the fees and payments we had to do. $10.00 per night for parking. $10.00 per person for breakfast at the hotel. $4.00 fees for improvement fee. * Hotels should provide parking for their customers. Where else do they expect us to park... * They ask for $50.00 up front just in case if something gets damaged in the room. But in reality they just plan to take your money either way. * The water pressure in the hotel rooms are horrid. It was irritating that they set a setting on the water. Guests should have the freedom to enjoy and feel cozy, not controlled. * The ice machine was so loud. We heard the machine constantly going off and it was not peaceful. Really disappointing honestly. My husband and I wanted to do a small getaway without our kids as we have not been able to get away in over 2 years.

The lady at the front desk when checking in was super nice and helpful (I completely forgot her name because I was exhausted after a 12 hour road trip, but she was working the night of October 19th, 2024). The hotel is very dog friendly with a 3 acre dog park a little hike behind it. The room was comfortable and clean, but the TV would do a weird thing and turn off then immediately back on every couple of hours or so...not a big deal because we were just staying the night before continuing our trip. If we are ever visiting again we will definitely look at staying here again.

Rooms were clean and roomy... I found the staff to be friendly and helpful! The water pressure was awful! And the cleaning service didn't make the bed or replace our washcloths, they pulled the blankets up and gave us more hand towels. Their breakfast buffet that was ten dollars is free at other hotels. It's a continental breakfast without the waffles! The service staff was awesome in the restaurant too! The name is deceiving, there is another Holiday Inn close to downtown that should have that name. We wanted to stay within walking distance to the train and dining. All in all it was a good place though.

Positive: Overall the appearance in cleanliness of both the hotel lobby in our room were very acceptable. Negative: After checking out the room, we realized the sleeper sofa had no sheets, blankets, pillows or anything. We asked the only very new employee working that evening to provide these and after three attempts, over three hours finally got them at 9:45pm.

Check-in on the afternoon of October 1 was very slow. We were passed from one person to another, which took up a considerable amount of time. The clerks obviously didn't care. ||That night, dogs were barking in an adjacent room. My wife called twice to report the issue, I called once. Nothing changed. When I went to the front desk the next morning to register my complaint, I was told the customer had left two dogs in the room unattended, but the staff could not enter the room. Try to figure that one out. I was told they called animal control, but they could not come out until 10 am the next morning. If the staff could not access the room as I was told, how was animal control going to get in? ||Bottomline, the hotel ignored the very clear needs of its guests, which resulted in a sleepless night for my wife and me. Having traveled extensively for over 50 years, we have never encountered a situation like this. It is a poorly managed hotel that does not care a snit about its guests.

The hotel itself is very nice, but for a couple of factors we would've given it a five. The rooms were nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They answered every question we had and we're able to give us directions. Our only complaint was that one of the elevators was out of service, which made it a bit difficult when the tour bus was dropping off people laid in the evening. The other issue was the attached restaurant would need the breakfast there but dinner and beer were excellent. All things considered. We enjoyed our stay, which was an extended stay and we will go back.

Upon arrival I thought this was going to be a very great experience. The hotel itself is decently nice, great location with an Off-Leash dog park/trail right next door connected to the parking lot. The rooms were nice but not cleaned very well, there was chewed up looking popcorn on the floor around the couch, and it almost seemed like the sheets had dirt/dust of them. If you expect to take a hot shower, DONT. You have to turn it ALL THE WAY hot to even get a little warmth. The lights don t work unless you keep your keycard in the slot so if you want to keep drinks cold in the fridge you need to leave a keycard behind, very inconvenient when both parties are going separate places and each need a key to get in. Hello hot drinks and spoiled food. On the website it shows parking is $10 but does not clarify that it s $10/day. Pet fees are $40 a night but you MUST take them everywhere you go, so waste your $40 just so you can leave your dogs in the truck while your out eating or watching a movie or trying to enjoy your vacay. Don t waste your time or money and just get an AirBnB.

They do not offer shuttle service to or from the airport. Make sure you rent a car at the airport. There is so much to see and not everything within walking distance. DURANGO RIVER TRIPPERS saved our vacation. David, the owner, was WONDERFUL!

Place is about a half mile out of town. They charge extra for parking here, but don t tell you until you arrive. The woman at the desk said you have to look for it on the website. So beware. I would get it if you were in town and they told about it in the reservation. I feel this is dishonest

Don t stay in this hotel. My experience was horrible. I couldn t check in after 4 pm because room wasn t ready. I had to come back later time. I requested to change a room for one more day of my stay but it got denied without any good reason. The room was noise. Consistently you hear sound from ice maker outside of room and next room I recommended you to choose diff hotel to enjoy.

We stayed for a week here for my boyfriend s birthday. We had a phenomenal time exploring all the sites and visiting family nearby. We had impeccable service during our stay. Specifically Jeff Lyman gave us great recommendations of great foods atmosphere, hiking, etc. he was insanely well versed in the area and much of the area even further around downtown Durango. Our room was on the fourth floor with a balcony, it has its own living room area when you walk in, a mini fridge, Keurig, and a microwave. The balcony has an amazing view and we couldn t ask for a more comfortable stay. The buffet breakfast is priced beautifully at $10 a person and has everything you need for a well balanced breakfast. To say this hotel is dog friendly is an understatement, the dog park steak is phenomenal, and all the rooms have what appear to be luxury vinyl which is much better than carpet in dog friendly hotels. I d say majority of people who stayed here did have dogs, which was awesome. Would highly recommend staying here, it s CLEAN and very inviting. If you re not familiar with the sec Oscar s is the best for breakfast, be sure to add your name to the waitlist ahead of time! It gets busy but sooooo worth it.

Finally, when so many properties in this hotel class are going down hill w/ bad redesigns and skimping on breakfast, The HI & Suites Durango does it all right: - good room design with proper layout, enough space, good bathroom doors, well functioning AC -a killer breakfast buffet (for only $10) - all 3 shifts of front desk staff, super friendly and accommodating. -well equipped conference rooms - a great, larger than average hotel pool that I sadly didnt get a chance to use Thank you for taking such good care of us this week, I will certainly be back next time I am in Durango. Walkability: 20 min walk to the heart of town Food and drinks: Great breakfast buffet- stayed at 10+ hotels in the last 30 days, this was by far the best breakfast

One elevator not working, closet door off track couldnt open, mold in and around shower. Clerk at front desk was very rude. Refused to address any of the problems, no room change, no refund if we decided not to stay. His response take it up with management if they show up tomorrow. Check out 11 no management. Rooms: Mold in shower, worst holiday Inn Ive stayed at and the most expensive.
