Comfort Inn & Suites Durango in Durango

Stay at this hotel on our visit to Durango to ride the train. Rooms are ok, service is really good, breakfast is ok. Why 2 stars? Because for the price you pay, they need to double check that the person that cleans the rooms do a good job. When we enter the room everything looks fine, except for the leftovers in the fridge and in the microwave (looked really bad and smell bad). Fortunately there was a lady at the end of the hall that gladly cleaned up and this was not her area, I believe her name is Leticia ( sorry if I'm wrong). Stay here Sunday, November 24th, room 202

The breakfast they serve in the morning is probably one of the best you'll ever come across. A full spread! Hot breakfast. Very good coffee and food! Location is pretty good. Only a mile or so from downtown. Comfortable beds and pillows. Front desk is always the best and very helpful! Definitely better than most locations! No bed bugs here so far. I've been here quite a bit now.

Great location, wonderful staff, they were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was good. Why did I give them 1 star? Bed bugs is why it's a long story. My husband got bitten 12 times, he got an allergic reaction, and I had to take him to the emergency room. I got bitten twice. If you're planning on using this place, please be cautious, do an inspection of your room BEFORE you bring in your personal belongings. Check under all sheets and back sides of beds. You do not want to take those bugs home with you. I have pictures. Won't upload unless asked to. So I'm providing an update after Comfort Inn responded. I don't believe that you do take this seriously, as when we had notified the front desk of the issue, we were then told that management is not willing to come and talk with us, and that they will be available at 6am. I do understand that it was 3am when the call was made. The front desk did try to give us another room, but for the safety and health of my family, I would not continue to stay another minute. When 6am came and gone, not one person called to see what happened or even check that my husband was okay. I'm the one who had to make contact. So I don't believe that you're sorry, and I only believe that an apology is given to save face on this review. It was also mentioned to us that "There shouldn't be any more cause we got rid of them all." This to me indicates that management knew bed bugs was in that room.

Came up for the weekend from Denver. Location was convenient to our activities. The front desk attendant was super polite & hospitable. The room was clean and served our purpose for an overnight stay - it was very hot & stuffy when we checked in the room & took all night to cool off. The coffee and breakfast were good.

Room wall is too thin and the neighbors were too loud. I complained to front desk and the front desk staff did knock on the door BUT nothing happened. Now, my family is still up even though we finished a difficult hiking trail today and we are exhausted but can't fall sleep. Update: 2:34 am I went to front desk and talked to the guy I talked to at 11:52 last night. He said that he can't do anything since he knocked and called and left a message. He even called the manager and the manager didn't respond. Apparently, this hotel did get similar incident last night with involvement of police according to the from desk staff. I will definitely talk to manager in the morning. Update: while I am writing this update, the neighbors finally turned off their TV around 3:05am. Finally! I don't know what happened and will ask for refund in the morning because they ruined my vacation and I can't concentrate on driving on the mountain roads for today's itinerary. Update: the manager agreed to refund me $75 for my one night sleepless.

My husband and I have been staying at this hotel for the past 11 years or so. It is in a great location, wonderful staff, very clean, comfortable rooms and beds, and very quiet. Cookies and popcorn in the afternoon and lovely breakfast each morning. Doug, who checked us in was very kind and helpful. Jeanne who checked us out was also very warm and kind. We recommend this hotel with the highest regard. You will not be disappointed.

This hotel is pet friendly. Maybe a bit too much so! We are animal lovers, but we couldn't stand the stench of dogs in the room we were initially allocated. It was very strong! After I complained, we were graciously offered another room on the third floor which was clean, spacious and fresh smelling. It was equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, microwave and safe (extra charge for using the safe).|The bed was comfy and made up with good quality linens.|Wifi was a little annoying. We had to sign in each time we used it.|Breakfast was adequate, but not very healthy. Less sugar laden choices and more fresh fruit would be appreciated.|These shortcomings aside, this well located and maintained hotel is a good place to stay, specially if you are travelling with your pooch.

Positive: The staff did a excellent job with the amount of bikers that were at the event on Labor Day so kudos to all of the staff. Negative: Everything was great with the location to the staff and to the cleanliness for what I paid for. Thank you for a memorable weekend of stay!
