Friendly and efficient. Didn't get the car we booked, got a better one which was also new and clean
Went into this location for my family's car rental reservation a day early. The woman working went above and beyond to help us sort things out. If we had been there on the right day I'm sure the experience would have been even better.
Have been renting from Hertz at this location for many years and always receive prompt excellent service and vehicles in good condition. On this occasion Gabriel was particularly helpful when he learned I was making a same-day trip for business to Cork and would be driving for 6+ hours. He kindly upgraded me to a brand new vehicle at no extra charge to make the drive more pleasant. Very much appreciated.
Very smooth car pick-up process, I really appreciated the transparency from the person who handed us contract & car - it was really the first time that I felt I was not getting forced into purchasing some extra I didn't need, everything was carefully explained. The car was new and in great conditions.
In summary, the complete experience attached to our Thrifty rental car was highly satisfactory. The collection point in Dublin was easily accessible, the staff most friendly, professional and helpful. The car, a Ford Focus was ideal for our seven day journeying and the return process at Dublin airport, simple and as anticipated, assisted by a courteous and friendly staff member. We certainly recommend Thrifty among quite a number of car hire companies used over decades of travel. Best wishes to the company and its staff. Philip Barker, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Very easy online booking system, with lots of detail on every aspect of the booking. Very friendly and efficient service when collecting and returning the van, no suprises on charges (most companies use insurance fear to wrangle more EUREUREUR money from you!) and the van was spotless and only a few months old. Definitely use them again!
Hired a van for a day after the long queue finally got it. For some reason the sales assistant forget to mention about the previous damage done to the van. After telling the other customers the make colour and no scratches or dents on their car. On my walk around inspection front wheel arch panel drivers side had a dent, passenger front panel scratches rear bumper scratched and side door drivers side scratches. Which included rust in it. That doesn't appear in one day. I informed the customer service rep that this van was damged and he acknowledged the same. They proceeded to email photographs of the van 3 hours later stating no damge. I am lucky to be classed as a professional driver so i took photos before leaving the forecourt Time stamped on my phone. They then held me for a fuel deposit charging 2.20 euro a litre current cost 1.70 on a 60 litre tank. Which they fill from a storage tank on site. Sure they are getting it at cost. With VAT deduction. I filled the van up before arriving at the depot. Paid by card for fuel so can prove that also. Am still awaiting my fuel deposit return. Which was to released off my card by midnight the same day. Am still waiting for same 96 hours later. Be very careful when dealing with these chancers and actually take your time to inspect the vehicle. It is well known that he vehicles are washe before hand which at times can hide damage not visible when dry. Am not in a position to give them even a single star review as to the blatant lies and underhanded overcharging of fuel and the lack of truth on the damge previously done to this van. As the rep stated to me some people can not manoeuvre out of the depot without hitting the wall. 0h wow actually cant post this comment with giving them a minimum one star review. Wow talk about cheek and tongue. Disgraceful behaviour
BEWARE SHADY SALES TACTICS AND HIDDEN FEES. I rented my car through a third-party site, so the rental was prepaid. Once I arrived I provided my credit card, which was needed to place a hold for the vehicle. Pretty standard stuff. However, the representative at the counter stated I am "required" to have additional supplementary insurance on top of my credit card's existing collision damage waiver insurance and provided me no option to opt out. It was 7EUR a day for 7 days(total 49EUR), so did not seem like a big deal at first. The representative did not provide me a receipt except for the acceptance of additional liability insurance. Thinking back it makes sense why they avoid giving receipts, so that customers do not see the hidden fees they tack on. After the returning the vehicle I still had not received my final receipt but decided to go straight to the Hertz website, which allowed me to find my receipt by plugging in my details, such as credit card and last name. Once I finally see the receipt I see their deceitful tactics at work. Not only was this "required insurance" 7 euros a day, they also added a ~26EUR location surcharge. To add insult to injury they also charged my credit card in my country's USD currency opposed to EUR. This results in a "conversion charge"/markup. My travel card waives foreign transaction fees when done in the local currency (in this case EUR). I WAS NOT provided an option to select EUR. I believe when the representative selected the USD option himself. Pretty unethical business practices, so IF you choose to visit this location be very careful.
