Hertz Car Rental - Dublin City Centre 151157 South Circular Road in Dublin

Really nice and easy car rental place. Took a car to get to the cliffs of moher, The service was super quick and we were outside with our car within 10 minutes. The car was a very new model with all tech gadgets that you could need. Price was fair and the car was completely insured

We had booked and paid for a GPS. There was none available. The pre-inspection email did not contain any photos of the tyres. Our own inspection revealed damage to all 4 tyres and we had to notify the Hertz of this.

I had an excellent experience with Hertz Dublin, thanks to Caroline from the rental village. She was incredibly reliable, understanding, and quick in helping us secure a car. Caroline not only offered us a great deal but also took the time to explain all the do's and don'ts clearly. Her professionalism and efficiency made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Kudos to the Hertz management for hiring the right person for the job! Caroline truly knows her work and delivers it with exceptional speed and clarity. Keep up the great work, Caroline! Highly recommended!

The employees were extremely rude. They had availability online, and a full car park. We came as soon as they opened and they told us "No availability for someone your age", completely discriminated against our age, of which we are in our late twenties. This was the first and only time someone was rude to us in Ireland, so disappointing considering Hertz is a company I use and trusted.

We rented an automatic Skoda for 6 days from this location. Being from the States, car rental in Ireland is a different beast - high damage deductible (charged preemptive to your credit card) with lots of exclusions. Your personal auto insurance and your credit card insurance are unlikely to be accepted. Furthermore, Irish country roads are incredibly narrow and you are very likely to be brushing the bushes on the roadside (worse). We knew all this in advance and took out all available coverage (at EUR300+). And while we had no damage that we knew of, it offered tremendous peace of mind. Renting the car was smooth and efficient, even though there was only one person working the counter. Returning was even easier. Staff was typical friendly Irish (how is it that the Irish are so nice?). The car was relative new and ran well. The rental location is a little out of the way so you have to taxi back-and-forth to City Center. Know what to expect and you should have a good experience.

DO NOT RENT from HERTZ Dublin as they are a rip off! We rented a van for 1 day and although we returned the van in plenty of time before the 24 h rental contract (this can easily be checked on their CCTV), we were charged for an extra day without being told that Hertz will do so. When we returned the van, the guy in reception took the keys, asked if all was OK and said goodbye. When we noticed that an extra EUR92 was charged, we tried for days to download the return receipt from the online Hertz account. As this was not working, we returned the next week to their office on South Circular Rd only to be told that they don't deal with closed rentals and that we should email customer service, which we did. It's more than 2 weeks now that we have raised a claim for the extra charge they made and no reply and no resolution yet. This is simply STEALING! Extremely disappointing service. We will NEVER recommend Hertz to anyone!

My experience at this location went well enough. However, after I finished my trip, I came to find out that I was charged for "Liability Insurance Supplement" despite clearly declining any liability coverage. The agent didn't ask about whether I wanted a Liability Insurance Supplement. If they had, I would have declined it. No fee disclosure or transparency. Very disappointed with my experience at this location. Watch out for hidden fees!

Dollar/hertz was the worst experience. The car they gave me the clutch failed (fell to the floor) and intermittently went soft until I was able to coast into a parking lot. After patiently waiting 2 hours for a replacement car with my 5 children (and the help of a generous Aldi employee) I only later found a charge on my card for $1200 in damages and $35 fee for emergency assistance with no explanation. The man at the returns said he didn't know and couldn't help me. So beware if you rent a car from them and it fails, as they may claim it was damaged by you and you will be charged with no explanation, communication or proof.
