Do not rent from this company! Terrible company and customer service department was not helpful in any way. This company scams you into paying way more money for insurance or they put a huge hold on your Credit Card. Paid $700 more than we were supposed to. Customer service was not helpful, exchanged over 20 emails with them over weeks and they ended up doing NOTHING even after being given incorrect information multiple times. Emailed them months before the rental and we were told we did not have to pay any additional holds or fees and that was a big lie! Also, key fob didn't work but they said I should've just paid to change the battery and they would have reimbursed me. Im on vacation and renting a car, why would i need to take care of this?? We paid for upgraded "larger" car for trunk space , instead it was tiny, and got pressured into paying more money for nothing. They do not care about their customers. I wish we went with a different company. This was the worst experience.

My experiences with Europcar were very, very pleasant at both the Pick-up and Drop off; mainly due to the members of staff that attended to me, whose names are Nicolas and Casper respectively. The car was a good one, an Hyundai Tucson with a very good fuel economy and drives Seamlessly.... Needless to say, their shuttle buses are very efficient and they do Pick-ups every 10 minutes at the designated shuttle stations.

I landed in Dublin late on a Saturday evening, not having pre booked my car and waited patiently as the staff at the counter attended to many people who did have bookings. Paul was who I landed with, and thank goodness! Paul was not only patient with me not having a booking, he was excited for my trip! Paul sorted out my car, easily and gave me his personal favourite places of Ireland to visit, after seeing my unplanned ways. He spent close to an hour with me and never waited on his enthusiasm for my trip. The car itself was a little trouper and upon returning it after 33 days I was sad to see us parting. I would happily rebook through Paul anytime!

Our experience at the Dublin Airport Europcar office was fine. I was a bit nervous about whether or not my credit card CDW would be enough as the documentation sent with my confirmation indicated they only accepted MC from the US and I had used a Visa. I had verified through my card company that they in fact cover the Republic of Ireland (which I gathered was fairly new) and I had the letter dated within the required time frame. The agent at the counter accepted the letter without any fuss. The only upsell was for roadside assistance which was about $10/day and since we had booked well in advance and got a good price for the rental seemed reasonable. He explained how tolls at pay-by-plate locations would be passed on to my cc with a small fee. The toll charge ended up being $9.68 total. He also verified there would be a 5k hold on my cc (which I knew about from the information sent when I booked the car) and clearly stated the type of fuel and coor of pump handle to use (petrol/green). We had plenty of time to review the car against their listed preexisting damages, check the gas gauge, set the mirrors, etc. before heading out. If there had been anything amiss, there was someone in the garage to assist and we had an email to send concerns to within 24 hours of pickup. We reserved an automatic economy car and received an automatic Toyota Yaris. The car performed well on Motorway, National and Regional roads. I was thankful many times for its smallness. The return process was even easier with the garage attendant going around the car with me and confirming all was in order. I'm glad I read the attachment that came with my confirmation as it helped me be prepared. If you are using your cc CDW coverage for a rental car in Ireland, Europcar wants the letter to be dated within three weeks of pick up. I also knew about the 5k hold and made sure I had the available credit on my card. They literally tell you what to expect and what you need. Read the documentation they send you in advance. Attaching a photo of the car with my husband (at the BallyCotton Cliffs Walk.)

The service was outstanding. Communication by email was good. Giuseppe in particular at the desk was so helpful. Returning the car and getting back to airport was a breeze. The airport shuttle driver was jovial and friendly too, these small things make a difference.

Avoid at all costs. They offer low online fares but force you to buy their ultra expensive insurance. This is not disclosed in the booking. Will not accept third party insurance unless it's from 2 credit card companies and you have a letter from them with ALL material information in it. Horrible experience. Ivan does a dance about renting everything from scooters to helicopters all in an effort to increase your price. Bait and switch. Deceptive. Worst

After a delay due to pushy upgrade and insurance sale we left in an Audi A4, only to find after a few km the car had just a quarter tank of fuel, instead of the full tank it was supposed to have. No answer to phone calls or emails over several days. Hoping they don't demand payment for the fuel they didn't give me when I return the car later today. Update - there were no issues returning the car - staff very helpful and friendly so 3 stars overall I wonder why they don't answer customer services phone or email?

Very good experience. We to pick up the car. Was given an older car. Asked for a newer one and they were happy to oblige. Drop off process was friendly and efficient. I had my own insurance and was not an issue. Will use them again.

Like others I am sure...lured into the Europcar trap with the low online rental car prices. Maybe 1/3 to 2/3 rds lower than the competition. We believed we would get a car for a month for the rate quoted...yeah...right..!!! Arrived to pick up the car we had reserved. Right from the start we were offered an upgrade..my wife agreed to that. So add another 250.00 to the original cost. That we agreed to... Then the insurance. We gad a letter from Chase for Ireland securing rental car insurance. We were told by the Europcar salesman that it was not enough coverage. WE HAD TO BUY LIBILITY INSURANCE FROM EUROPCAR...!! This would be 10.00 a day. My wife asked twice.. Are you sure..he said yes. We had to buy it. So another 200.00. Then the fuel charge. If we did not bring it back full. Okay, cwe will bring it back full. No problem. The upgraded car was a Volvo with 68K kilometers on it and a list of damages that filled the damage page. Literally from too many scratches to list, damage to mirrors, chips in the window, damage to wheels, fenders...and the list goes on. The passenger seat was like sitting on a hard park bench.. My wife called corporate about the mandatory 10.00 per day insurance charge. She was told it IS NOT mandatory. And we did not have to buy it. On returning the car we spoke to the manager in Dublin about the charge. He basically called us liars. But we had the guys name in corporate. After much debate the manager agreed to refund the insurance amount. We waited for over 2 weeks to get the credit for fuel. It took a phone call and E- mail to get it back Possibly the worst rental car experience ever. I cannot speak for other Europcar offices...but this Dublin office is terrible...run...do not walk...from here. Just say NO..!!!!

The agent at the airport counter charged me with an extra fee (on top of the deposit) without asking me first. My mistake was trusting him (he had only mentioned the 250 euro deposit) and not checking the contract and the card machine before signing and paying. It would be st*pid of me to request a refund because I know its too late. I just want to make the next customers aware of this. Other than that, the car was perfect and the service at return was very good, as well as the customer service on the phone. Without this, the review would be 1 star.

To avoid the salesperson does everything to ruin you and while you think about paying a deposit, he charges you for comprehensive insurance that you absolutely did not ask for. I strongly advise against it.

Very very bad experience at Europcar Dublin airport. At the counter they force your hand to upgrade for a significant fee. I had an incident following a flat tire on the first day of the trip and scratched the doors (already well scratched) while parking in a hurry to avoid an accident. I had the tire changed at a local mechanic who told me that they were all in very poor condition. Unsurprisingly, when the vehicle was returned, my deposit of 1600 euros and 120 euros of assistance were debited from my account. The problem is that a month later I still have not received the quote and the invoice necessary for reimbursement of costs by my insurance despite 3 telephone reminders to customer service and an email. And thats a scam. It seems that the agency collects the deposits but does not repair the vehicles. After 3 calls I was promised to resolve the problem within 3 days...to be continued. November 2024 After around twenty calls to France and a few emails, I was able to contact Dublin directly by email, thanks to an error in the French service. Finally, I had to deal with just one person who, after around ten days and a few exchanges, sent me the long-awaited quote!

I feel completely ripped off! They charged me an extra 33 for fuel, even though I returned the car with a full tank. The fuel level was almost identical to when I picked it up, yet they still imposed this charge. Additionally, it only took about 10 km to drive from my hotel to the drop-off point, and I had filled the tank up before leaving the hotel. To make matters worse, there was no transparency during the booking process regarding the extra charge for driving in Northern Ireland. I was unaware of this fee and had to pay an additional 36++ during collection. This lack of clarity feels like scamming customers and demonstrates a serious lack of transparency. This experience is absolutely unacceptable I will never rent from this company again. I strongly advise others to stay away and choose NEWWAY instead!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I booked everything online as I usually do with car rentals. This time I booked through Expedia which I think is pretty normal for most tourists. When I arrive at the counter, after completing all the registration, they try to sell me insurance. I had declined insurance as usual since my travel credit card always covers rentals - Ive used this card many times in other cities/countries without issue, even covering damages on rentals. However they refused to accept it. Saying I must have a personalized letter from the credit card company saying I have coverage. Who the hell has that? So without it I cant take the car and they said Expedia should have told me that was a requirement. I did not see it anywhere on Expedia. I was jetlagged so I just said fine Ill buy your insurance. A 70 euro rental became 300 euros. It just felt so scammy. After that when we returned, people there were so not helpful. We had to find out how to return the keys ourselves. The worst part is I get an email saying theres a new damage on the car for 1600 euros (!!!). Thankfully we were smart and took a detailed video of the car exterior prior to taking it off the lot on the first day. And that damage was already there. So again theyre trying to scam money off of us! This is honestly the worst car rental experience weve ever had and were very experienced travellers. I felt like a chump falling for all their scam tactics.

I would at all cost avoid renting from this place. Regardless of how much you think youll save, its not worth the hassle or the scam they would try to squeeze and blame you for everything. Lets start with the insurance, they refuse to take any outside insurance, or if they do, they will ensure it will be difficult for you to do so therefore force you to purchase their overly priced insurance. They will try to reissue damages that has already been marked on the vehicle inspection list, claiming it to be your fault. Aside from double pinning damages on another customer, if theres already scratches, why would charge for another replacement. Thankfully I have already sent a pre inspection video and its concerning that they would try to blame us for damages. By far this rental has ended my visit on a sour note and I will not be renting, and I will warn all of my family and friends to avoid this company at all cost. The practise I just saw is unbecoming of a ethical business.

Totally inadvisable. First, half an hour waiting in front of the counter. Next, aggressive sales tactics to try to force you to take out insurance with them. Another half hour lost to catch the bus, go to the parking lot and pick up the car. The car in deplorable condition: dents, bad tire pressure, constant warnings on the dashboard... Worst of all, there was a constant attempt to deceive me to increase the rental price. In addition to the insurance, they lied to me about the M50 toll, they tried to scam me with the damage to the car... In the photos there is the evidence that they are scoundrels. I have rented 30 or 40 times (many with Europcar) and I have never suffered anything like this. --------------------- Avoid it. First, half an hour of waiting in front of the counter. Totalmente desaconsejable. He alquilado 30 o 40 veces (muchas con Europcar) y nunca habia sufrido algo asi. --------------------- Avoid it. First, half an hour of waiting in front of the counter. I picked up the rental car at Cork Airport approx 22:15 in the dark and dropped it to Dublin Airport approx 8:00 also in the dark. I was accused of scratching the car which I did not do. I showed them (Europcar Dublin airport) the cctv footage of the scratch 15 mins after pickup and they said it didnt matter because I didnt make them aware within the 12 hour window. I only had the car in my possession for 10 hours and the Cork office told me I had 24 hours to report any issues. (Cork Airport office was great). The car was ok and drove well. it had scratches you would expect from a 2 year old rental car with 85,000kms. The issue is they charged me 585 for a scratch i didnt do and even with video proof they still charged me and I am never ever going to use them again. I had insurance through QEEQ which covers me but it is the principle of the thing. The car had many other scratches on it 7 of which were highlighted in the pre inspection paperwork so you think they have done their job and notated all the scratches. Make sure you take pics even in the dark as they obviously charged other people before me and never repaired the scratches that those people were charged for. I have 25 recent rentals on QEEQ alone and this is the only time I have been taken advantage of. DO NOT RENT from EUROPCAR Dublin Airport. Plenty other decent companies renting in Dublin Airport. Hertz Dollar Trifty Alamo Budget Avis have all treated me well recently.

I wouldnt recommend this company. They refused to hire me a car - despite me having prepaid through a third party - claiming that my Digital Licence from Australia was not valid, despite the fact I also had a current International Drivers Licence. Their competitor next door - accepting my licence - didnt hesitate to hire me a car.

First like this, then better. Car picked up at the airport. The employee at the counter (Yazan) was super nice. Unfortunately, getting the car to the rental station took a very long time. After 2.5 hours the Dacias clutch had problems. Made it to the accommodation with difficulty. Then we called service and they recommended we go to Kerry Airport. The service employee there swapped the car without any hassle and I had an automatic car for the rest of my vacation, which I was very happy with.

Erst so, dann besser.

Europcar had a longer line at the pickup counter than all the other agencies at Dublin Airport. I did not care for the attempt to upsell every package and feature during pickup. The car provided was in good condition and more than met my needs. The drop off attendant was especially friendly. I would rent from Europcar again, however it did not differentiate itself enough from other agencies to create brand loyalty from me.
