Avis Car Hire Dublin City Centre in Dublin 8

Very poor experience. We had a flat tire that was not patchable. I had to replace the tire at my own expense. Avis said that tire replacement was not covered in their required insurance policy, although the tire service center said the tire was nearly bald and should not have been given out on a rental. I had to eat the cost of putting a new tire on their car. Additionally the car's engine service light was on from the moment I pulled out of the lot.

I've now completed maybe 7 rentals in the past 18 months with Avis in Dublin. On each and every occasion the service has been first class as have the vehicles, regardless of which category I have chosen. There was an occasion when the provided vehicles malfunctioned, at no fault of Avis but a fault by the car manufacturer, and on each occasion a call to the amazing customer service agent , Rachel, and the problem was resolved immediately with my convenience being the key of her focus. I now don't shop on price, I simply go directly to Avis and know they will do the right thing.

I have booked with this Avis station about 8-10 times in the last two years, and the service has always been top-notch. The agents at the counter are incredibly professional, kind, proactive, and accommodating. This is by far the best Avis station I've experienced. Highly recommended!

Had an awful experience here last week. The person behind the counter added a 54 Euro per day "Super CDW" charge that I did not intentionally agree to and did not notice when I signed the documents. We had a lengthy discussion about the insurances and he had written out prices for the total cost on a piece of paper when adding the regular insurance and I agreed to them. The agent typed everything up and told me to initial it (at which point I mistakenly didn't double check the values on the screen, because I trusted him to input the data we discussed) and then I was hit with an extra 208 euro charge on my final bill that I was not expecting. I called Avis customer service to explain the situation and they basically told me to get lost. DO NOT TRUST THE AGENTS and make sure you verify every single line item before you sign.

Picking up the car was easy- staff was helpful and competent. Car was clean and as described. All the scratches and dings were accurately described on the contract. Although I had a small accident, with the extra insurance, it was handled easily. Check-in staff was friendly, knowledgable and provided good service.

If you didn't do your research don't rent a car. You will need to provide information like a letter that shows proof of insurance when renting the car. If you pay for their insurance you have been scammed, sorry. If you want to rent a vehicle, please read through their entire terms and conditions page and have all paperwork before approaching the counter. If you don't pay for their insurance, realize that you will have to pay a 5000 deposit and a 30 euro fee. To Avis, your scare tactics are not cool and your commission fee is not cool. We won't fight you on your stupid, badly phrased policy, but Amex will have fun. As for the car after you get through the rental bit, it's pretty terrible. We received a Nissan Juke and if you know anything about Nissan, they are also a terrible company. They do leasing scams and are only after your money. I see why their fleet has Nissans in it as both companies are similar in their use of deceptive tactics to get customers. To continue your 5 Star reviews are fake they are all copy paste and clearly follow a pattern I will be reporting these reviews. DO BETTER!!!

Avis Dublin City Centre were great. After arrival it was only about 10 minutes later we were on the road. Return was quick and easy. I have used AVIS a few times in different countries around the world and intend to continue.
