Mr. Dave, who is based on Haddington Road, consistently demonstrates exceptional helpfulness and professionalism in his role as an employee.
Okay so I am embarking on an epic Ireland adventure with my 79 year old father and after 2 days of walking in Dublin I promptly decided I wanted him to walk way less. That being said I walked into Hertz in the morning no reservation explained the situation and asked for help with a car for the rest of our trip. Not only did the staff take care of us they did it quickly and gave us a wonderful car for the proceeding 854 miles that we traveled throughout the Republic of Ireland! Thank you so much for making it an amazing trip for me and my Dad!
Hertz Dublin Booking Nightmare - Misleading Policies, Zero Accountability, and No Refund! Booked a car with Hertz, expecting a smooth experience. What I got was a complete nightmare. Here's what happened: On October 25th, I showed up at Hertz Dublin, Baggot Street, ready to pick up my reserved car. I had my passport, driver's license, and Revolut debit card, only to be told Revolut wasn't accepted. When I asked why this isn't made clear on their website, the agent showed me a WhatsApp message from his manager as "proof" and vaguely pointed to their terms and conditions, which don't specifically list restricted cards. But get this--the manager had already left early for the weekend. It wasn't even 5 pm, and the one person who might be able to help was gone. The agent told me if I took a taxi home, grabbed my Bank of Ireland debit card, and went to the Hertz at Dublin Airport, I'd "definitely" get my reserved car. So, after a wasted trip home, I headed to the airport with my card and reservation details. At the airport, I explained the whole mess, including my age (26). Then the airport agent told me the car I reserved was only available for people 30+ years old. I was shocked--why didn't the website flag this when I entered my age during the booking? I brought this up, and she just shrugged, saying they weren't "responsible for the website." She offered a much smaller car instead, which wasn't what I'd booked or wanted. When I asked to speak to the manager, some guy came over without introducing himself. I explained the situation again, and he flatly told me I couldn't take the car I'd reserved. I said I wasn't taking a smaller car, and he dismissively said, "Don't take it, then," and walked off without another word. To make matters worse, the Hertz website was down, so I couldn't even cancel. After THREE taxi trips--Baggot Street to my home, my home to the airport, and finally to Toyota Yuko, where I managed to book a car last minute--I was completely out of options. Hertz not only wasted hours of my time, ruined my weekend plans, didn't give any refund/compensation and left me with unexpected taxi costs and they refused to take any accountability. Will never book a car with them and don't recommend anyone to do so.
I have rented cars many times, but I still worry each time that I do. However, the staff at Hertz Baggott St. Bridge was fantastic! I will certainly book with them again the next time I am in Dublin.
Not a good experience at all Enterprise was really straightforward. It just seems like our bill was much, much higher than it should have been. We will be checking into it more. The total for our trip through our travel agent was 199.00 and they are holding about 4500.00 Don't understand
No mention on credit card in the main lines of contract, only in commentaries and additionnal charge of 338,59EUR for said compulsory insurance. It's the price of my annual car insurance and it double the rental price. Never had problems with my debit gold card before, caution was on account, and gold card covers insurance. Never take this rental service in the future. Feeling to gave been stolen
Extremely happy with the service! The manager David couldn't have been more helpful and honest. I am not a person to leave reviews but I was impressed by the level of hardwork and customer service from David. It's very hard to find people like this nowadays. This is an understaffed branch and he was doing everything! I went to pick up the rental with my husband and there was a long queue, the customers ahead of us were very rude and demanding whilst delaying everybody else... (it was so awkward for everyone there!!) however, David managed to keep calm and handled the situation very well. I had a great experience but they could use a whole lot more staff.
Was most impressed by the way my call was handled by the Hertz guy in Dublin City when I wanted to advise of a delay, caused by the global IT problem. Arriving at the airport, I spoke to your agent who was professional, helpful and friendly. I was waiting for my wife's arrival on a delayed flight before proceeding to the Rental Village and, as time went by, I returned to the Hertz office to update them. They kindly offered to book me in there and to provide me with a vehicle from the adjacent car park. I was impressed. Well, I was until they told me that normally I would be required to provide a missive from a doctor to confirm that I was fit to drive as I am 77 years old. And where was pre-notification of this? The only correspondence I received was a simple email, one that did not provide a contact number, hence my call being made to the city office. This simple missive did not even give a financial breakdown of the cost. Then I was asked insurance I explained that I had an annual policy as I rent cars 7 or 8 times a year. It was at this point I was advised that my rental cost did not include any insurance. The explanation was that I had paid via an American website rather than an Irish one. So where was the customer friendly warning? Missing - because that would hit your bottom line. I have never known a company to quote a rental without it including basic insurance. Yes, even Goldcar. This approach would explain the simplicity of the confirmation of my booking. I believe that your appalling attitude to your customers is a disgrace and will be writing to your Chief Executive to share my opinions.
