Quality service from both Rentbycar and their staff member Sergio when renting a quality Renault for a 3 day visit to Biarritz and San Sebastian . Efficient polite service throughout , including shuttle return lifts to Bilbao airport . Sergio also recommended that we took our own photos / video of the car before driving off , as this would highlight any damage not flagged by Rentbycar . Excellent example of the service/ support provided by Sergio . Summary - excellent service and would recommend Gary & Jacqui Fletcher ( North Wales , UK )
Great experience. Loved the car I got, and process was smooth. I had a small accident with the car, and Igor was very kind, professional, patiently walked me through the process and how he was marking the damages and why. He even offered to walk me through the booking insurance process. And was very kind about allowing me to do some cleaning so I wouldn't be charged for extra fees. It's been a very nice experience!
Booked a car through DoYouSpain.com (comparison website), as they offered the best rate for the level of car I wanted. Skipped their insurance as it was pricey (a common theme with rentals), opting instead for independent coverage (worldwideinsure.com) which I've found to be reliable and cost-effective. The experience at Bilbao Airport was smooth - a quick call and they had a shuttle at the airport within 5 minutes, and their office is close by. The car provided wasn't the exact model I'd booked, but it was in the same class. Only slight gripe: checking the pre-existing damage list on a car parked outside on a rainy day is tricky, as it's hard to spot minor issues on a car in this weather. Overall, efficient service, outstanding price and I'd use them again.
Abysmal experience upon returning the vehicle. 10 minutes late so charged for another full day's rental. In contrast to the collection, when they didn't want to help us verify the 20+ damaged items on the vehicle, the return inspection was microscopically surgical! They tried to blame us for 2 damaged hub caps until we showed them the video we took before leaving that proved the damage was pre-existing. Not so lucky with the windscreen, which we unfortunately only checked superficially when we collected the vehicle; the check in agent went straight to 3 tiny stone chips, which we are sure we didn't cause but of course without the evidence we can't prove - charged EUR662,67, luckily we have Zest Car Rental's top up insurance to cover it - I very much doubt they will repair it, and if they do it will be for nothing like what they have charged. Lesson learnt, one gets what one pays for, and the only way they can offer prices that undercut the market leaders like Sixt, Hertz, and Avis is to claw back costs by this unscrupulous way of operating - it is the cheap hire car business model!!
A positive experience for my first time hiring a car. Friendly staff. Car was larger than I wanted as automatics are rare in Spain but otherwise all went well. Swift shuttle service to and from the airport. Highly recommend.
It was a nice experience ingeneral with RentbyCar! Only for Car Return, if it's not the place to return car any more, please remove the sign which with your type of "blue". Thanks! Compare with the my past experience (mostly with Enterprise/Europacar/SixT), RenbyCar is still surprised me! I rented a BMW X1 for 2 days, which bright new with good condition! Especially thanks for Igor! Who provided me super warm welcome and sufficient handy information! Only a small episode when we return the car. I followed the instruction to location, and try best to arrive on time (22.00). I arrived the area with the sign "Car Return"with RentalbyCar(Show as in picture). And there are batch of cars already parked there, i assume that's the correct location. (by 22.00) I took my belongings and walked to the office (2mins walk) to return the key, and the colleague told me "You must park the car in front of office!" Which really confused me and make me feel rude. (I don't mention the name of this colleague here, as I think this is something better to change from a company point of view) They explained there is instruction in contract... But I have to say, if that's not the place for car return! Please remove the sign which with your type of "blue".
Great experience. Excellent brand new car, efficient pick up and drop off (close by airport and regular minibus). We were looked after by the delightful Andrea who spoke wonderful English: we hope you get Andrea too - she tried harder than she needed too and it was most appreciated.
Dear Responsible, We had a horrible experience with your customer representative, L.N. One part of the car, attached in the email as photo, was somewhat muddy. However it is very easy to clean as we could clean some part of it with wet wipes. When we were renting it at the beginning, we were not informed that even mud could cause such high price for us. There is no written part on the contract about mud either. We were charged 60 euros, which is a very high price just to clean one small spot of mud. We will be writing very negative reviews, not recommending Rent by Car on any platform. To change our perspective to positive; - we want our 60 euros back - we want a free car rental voucher. We were planning our south of Spain holiday and we will definitely not rent the car from your company. The representetive L. N. didn't offer any solution. Only recommended that we get the car to a gas station and clean it ourselves - knowing that we are in a rush to be on time for our airplane. This is an unacceptable experience from which we will be sharing our negative view on every platform.
