The staff was very nice and helpful. The questions for the stuff the rent company needed was direct. The whole process went smoothly and I got the reasons for every step. The only thing that didn't work was the sending of the documents of the rental car. I only had a black and white copy but still I haven't gotten the colorful document.

I was basically robbed of 150 EUR. In case one does not want to pay extra car insurance (150 EUR / 6 days rental) they ask for a deposit collateral of 800 EUR which is ONLY payable via short loan CREDIT card. Debit card or cash are NOT accepted! And now hold your breath. If I accepted the extra insurance they are ready to make an exception and I could pay the deposit ( now 200 EUR) via a debit card! As a bonus I was rudely reminded several times that I do not have to rent the car ( for which I already paid the rental fee via online booking), rental voucher from thrifty was issued with a wrong pickup address, did not get the child seat I asked for and after I overtook the car they let me wait 10 minutes in the garages before someone opened the gate. Effective blackmail on someone who had family with kids waiting around the corner. Shameful!

The location in Google is wrong - it is neither in Av. Jardines del Duque nor Plaza Playas del Duque; it is in the Hertz office in Av. de Bruselas near corner with Av. de Moscu. I rented via Jet2holidays including prepaid excess waiver insurance (it is an Axa policy). That means Thrifty needs to hold a credit card deposit of EUR670; if anything happens then Thrifty take your excess and you reclaim from the insurance policy afterwards. An alternative is to pay Thrifty EUR14 (for that size of car) and there would be no need to claim the insurance. Although I didn't need to make a claim, hindsight says the latter is preferable to avoid hassle when back home. I got a Hyundai i20 as class B - nice little runner & clean. Staff were pleasant and easy to deal with. As with any car hire, it is worth checking the car thoroughly when picking up - bring a torch to help inspection in the dark car park.

Booked with all-inclusive insurance via CHECK24, but we had to pay an additional all-inclusive insurance for 20 per day on site because we only had a debit card instead of a credit card. Otherwise we wouldnt have gotten the car. Furthermore, we were treated extremely unfriendly. I hope the 150 deposit for the key will be paid back quickly.

Had no problems at all. Booked via Check24 for a very reasonable price with all conceivable insurance included. Small deposit was blocked (not collected) on my credit card (not debit card) and released again on the return day. The fact that debit cards are not accepted was noted several times at Check24 when booking... so giving a bad rating is stupid. No insurance was tricked into me when I picked up the car... I was only offered an upgrade in the car class, which you can of course politely decline if you dont want it. The vehicle was a bit older but it was drivable and completely fine. When we handed it over, an employee took a quick look at it to make sure nothing was majorly broken (a few small scratches dont bother anyone) and that was it. No complaints from me. You get what you booked here.

Mir wurden keine Versicherungen aufgeschwatzt bei der Wagenabholung... einzig ein Upgrade der Wagenklasse wurde mir angeboten was man naturlich dankend ablehnen kann wenn man es nicht mochte. Das Fahrzeug war schon nen Moment alter aber es war fahrtauglich und vollig in Ordnung. Bei Abgabe hat ein Mitarbeiter kurz druber geschaut das nichts grobes kaputt ist (paar kleine Kratzer storen hier niemanden) und das wars schon. Keine Beanstandungen meinerseits. Man bekommt hier das was man gebucht hat.

However, you should understand some English, otherwise communication could be a bit difficult.
