I had the car refueled at the pump and when I returned I was told the tank was not full. The employee who carried out the check was unfriendly and uncommunicative. I had to pay a tax of 26 euros. I will never rent here again

Careful, this is a franchise location and they do not honor any loyalty benefits, regardless of what your online confirmation email says. I've never encountered a car rental agency that did not honor the terms of a prepaid rental. We booked a car online and had an extra driver included owing to our hertz status. Upon arrival to the location we were told it's a franchise and that we would need to pay an extra ca. 90 USD to have an extra driver. The fact that we had a written email confirmation from Hertz that the additional driver is included did not matter. Hertz corporate was no help either, saying they're sorry but it's a franchise location. Also, FYI if you decline their insurance to use your credit cards CDW they'll put a hold on a fairly considerable amount of money (2k). The car itself was ok, and the return process was easy. Picking the car up the man at the front desk was a bit rude. I don't think he enjoyed working that day.

Worst car renting experience of my life. Never again will I be renting from Hertz. I rented a car for Sunday, which was no problem over the website. Unfortunately, the place is closed on Sundays (with conflicting statements on the website) and I couldn't get the car. When I returned on Monday, it turned out that the category of cars I booked is not available in that particular location. So I got a very bad substitute car which apparently is a higher category but in my opinion is definitely not. Also, the deposit is extremely high and there was no prior indication of that. I advise you to rent a car somewhere else. Most other companies were open on Sunday as well.

I absolutely cannot confirm those earlier negative reports! The car was booked with Check24 fully insured for 3 days. Staff was friendly and correct when getting the car. No additional insurances had been offered and handover of the car was like expected professional and without any complications. Return of the car also was without any problems. After reading the negative ratings first I hesitated to take over the car but the whole process was impeccable.

Booked once online while still in the UK and had such a hassle-free experience that I did a walk-in booking later in the week. Obviously a walk-in booking is more expensive than pre-booking, but given the price of coach-trip style excursions, car hire was preferable. I tend to include the damage-waiver on car hire when abroad, just for peace of mind, and this was no exception. It hardly broke the bank, being only EUR8 a day more expensive than the excess insurance I was quoted online. Jose dealt with me on both bookings and his customer service was great. His colleague also seemed pleasant. Will be using them on my next trip to the island.

Picking up the pre-booked car here was fine, but I didn't like 3 things: 1. I booked a mini cooper but I was given a Volkswagen. Hertz used the "Mini Cooper OR SIMILAR CAR" clause in the small text used in advertising, as usual. I would have still understood if they had run out of Mini cooper's before I reached, but the lady told me that they don't have any Mini Coopers at all in the stock! Why did they put it on the website then? I paid more because of Mini Cooper picture on the website. False advertising!! 2. While convincing me to buy their "reduced excess insurance", the staff used a scary face to tell me that it is could be so scary/dangerous to not buy it. While I appreciate telling customers extras they could buy, please cut out the drama! 3. There was an old couple next to us who rented a car 10 minutes ago, and a engine warning light had come on within first few minutes of driving first five minutes of driving the car on the dashboard . As far as I understand engine warning light can only come on if there is an issue with the engine. Clearly there wasn't an accident and there is no way the old couple could have caused the engine light to come on but Hertz was trying to make customers responsible and to pay for it which is not right.

Avoid at all costs. I have hired cars all round the world, and this was by far the worst experience I have had. I only hired a car for 24 hours and when I returned the vehicle they refused to refund the 670 Euros deposit I had to pay when I collected the vehicle. They claimed that the car had been damaged, and there was indeed a small scuff mark at the bottom of the front bumper on the passenger side, which I had not spotted, but which they spotted immediately. As to how the damage was caused is beyond me given the mileage I did. I should have realised I was been scammed when I picked up the vehicle. I arrived at 6pm, and was given the keys, and told that the car instead of being in their compound was parked 300 yards down the road and I would have to go and find it myself. I did not check the vehicle as fully as I should as just relieved to find it, and even if I had found the damage and gone back to them, they could have claimed I had just damaged the vehicle. I have used Hertz before in other countries and found them to be reliable, so mistakenly assumed that I would be getting the same level of service as normal. As I say avoid at all costs. I have taken the issue up with my insurance company, who in turn are taking the issue up with Hertz centrally, so hopefully the shady practice of parking the car well away from the rental centre that I endured will be stopped.

Die Bremsen unseres Mietwagens welchen wir am Flughafen Sud bekommen hatten waren nach einem Tag Teneriffa volligst am Ende. Die nachste Hertz-Vermietung war diese in Adeje. Volligst problemfrei und schnell hier ein adaquates, sogar besseres Auto bekommen. Waren nach 15min fertig. Sehr nette Dame am Schalter, perfekter Service. Danke!

Things went well for us. Both the employee in the office and the one who picked up the car in the underground car park were very friendly and competent. The handover report with the previous damages matched the actual damages. When it was handed in it was checked again... everything was fine. The only catch... as already described... you sign the previous damage without seeing it (a digital signature appears on all pages) and also sign blank when returning it. The principle of renting a car involves trust...unfortunately the landlord protects himself better than the customer can. Thats almost always what Ive had when renting a car. As written, the employees did their job!

Das Ubergabeprotokoll mit den Vorschaden stimmte mit den tatsachlichen Schaden uberein. Bei Abgabe wurde wieder gecheckt war alles in Ordnung. Der einzige Haken wie schon beschrieben man unterschreibt die Vorschaden ohne sie gesehen zu haben (eine digitale Unterschrift taucht auf allen Seiten auf) und signiert bei Ruckgabe auch blanko. Das Prinzip Mietwagen beinhaltet eben Vertrauen leider sichert sich der Vermieter da besser ab als es der Kunde kann. So habe ich das aber fast immer bei Autoanmietungen gehabt. Wie geschrieben, die Mitarbeiter haben ihren Job gemacht!

Very satisfied Upgraded from spacious 5-seater to 7-seater. The deposit was available again immediately after it was returned. Child seat and baby seat were great. I only had to look closely when I picked it up, as not all of the damage was precisely documented. This is probably due to the rather lax check when returning the item.

Paid for Seat Leon or equivalent, have to pay for everything and then you can pick up your car in the underground parking lot. There you get a Kia Stonic, this is the size of a Seat Ibiza. But if you choose a Seat Ibiza or equivalent, you are not guaranteed 5 seats, which is what we needed. So we paid too much! Staff was also very unfriendly when handling the documents. This was even before we knew we were getting a lesser car. I didnt have the time or desire to complain because we got a lesser car. There was also not a single Seat Leon in the parking lot.

I booked through Check24 and only have a debit credit card. After booking I saw the notice that a VISA card was recommended. There may be problems with a debit VISA. According to Hertz Germany, VISA Debit is accepted as a payment method. That became a problem here. The card was accepted for additional insurance (for the car) of around 96... The staff was very unfriendly and the car had fighting problems. Window cracked, various paint damage and dents. But that was within the acceptable range and was recorded in the rental agreement with pictures. The car required maintenance work. The return went exemplary. You sign once on a display and automatically distinguish between several places in the contract. Like, for example, the condition of the car without having seen it beforehand. You can get it yourself from a dark underground car park after signing. Would I have used a different credit card or booked directly through Hertz. If the rental had gone differently and my application had been better, but only after taking out insurance and poor conditions for 96 would it be possible for the VISA debit card to be accepted. Either I accept a method of payment or not. You feel cheated! Small tip 300m in the next shopping center are two other car rental companies

Gegen eine Zusatzversicherung (fur das Auto) von rund 96 wurde die Karte Akzeptiert... Das Personal war sehr unfreundlich und der Wagen hatte Kampfsuren. Scheibe gerissen diverse Lackschaden und Dellen. Das war aber im tolleriebaren Bereich und wurde mit Bildern am Mietvertrag festgehalten. Der Wagen hat Wartungsarbeiten eingefordert. Die Ruckgabe verlief vorbildlich. Man unterschreibt ein mal auf einem Display und unterscheidet automatisch an mehreren Stellen im Vertrag. Wie zum Beispiel den Zustand vom Wagen, ohne den vorab gesehen zu haben. Den darf man sich aus einer dunklen Tiefgarage nach der Unterschrift selber holen. Hatte ich eine andere Kreditkarte oder direkt uber Hertz gebucht. Ware die Anmietung anders gelaufen und meine Bewerbung besser gewesen aber erst nach Abschluss einer Versicherung und schlechten Konditionen fur 96 macht es moglich, dass die VISA Debit Karte Akzeptiert wird. Entweder ich Akzeptiert ein Zahlungsmittel odr oder nicht. Man fuhlt sich betrogen! Kleiner Tip 300m im nachsten Einkaufszentrum sind zwei weitere Vermieter fur Autos

Warning, you should avoid the store! Incredibly unfriendly service staff, both when picking up and returning (different). Car had scratches and damage listed on more than 3 pages. There were problems because I didnt have a pin for the new credit card. From then on we were no longer customers. The pickup service had to be paid extra, the return trip was refused due to a cash deposit. In other words, we were allowed to call a taxi. Will never rent there again. Not even about Sunny Cars, whose business model does not provide for any problems or deviations from standards.

Auto hatte mehr als 3 Seiten aufgefuhrte Kratzer und Schaden. Es gab Probleme, da ich keine Pin zu der neuen Kreditkarte hatte. Ab da waren wir keine Kunden mehr. Service zur Abholung musste extra bezahlt werden, Ruckfahrt wurde aufgrund einer Barhinterlegung der Sicherheit abgelehnt. Mit anderen Worten wir durften uns ein Taxi rufen. Werden nie wieder dort mieten. Auch nicht uber Sunny Cars, deren Geschaftsmodell sieht namlich keine Probleme bzw. Abweichungen von Standarts vor.

Avoid that office in Costa Adeje the employee is a horrible person. Unkind, rude. If you need a vehicle, rent it at the airport, the staff are great, highly commendable
