Canary Car in Costa Adeje

We had booked a rental car from Germany in august 2024 for 10 days that we had to pick up from this rental station ,,Canary Car / SurPrice Car rentals". When I arrived at this station to pick up the rental car I was facing two problems: 1. Their credit card reader didn't operate with both of my credit cards from two independent bank institutes. Both credit cards worked on the same day in other shops in Adeje and both bank institutes send a letter of confirmation that the credit range was sufficient. ,,Canary Car / SurPrice Car rentals" asked me to pay 84EUR cash to hand out the rental car to me. 2. They wanted to charge me a deposit of 1250EUR while in the rental voucher an amount of 800EUR was already defined. The employee of the rental station set me under pressure by telling me she will leave within the next 15minutes and either I pay 84EUR or I will not get the rental car. This would have messed up our family vacation so I had to pay for this. The car was in pretty bad condition. One rear tire run flat (0,8bar), the windscreen wish water noozle didn't work and driving noise was extremely loud so we had to exchange the car after 3 days. The replacement was ok then. After our vacation we had a lot of work to receive a refund by the german car rental agency. We had to bring confirmation letters by the bank institutes and had to document everything to prove the incidents. After 2 month we received a refund and a confirmation that the treatment of ,,Canary Car / SurPrice Car rentals" was not in line with correct business practise. With this experience I cannot recommend ,,Canary Car / SurPrice Car rentals" and I would not rent a second time there.

Absolutely do not rent from them. They lured us in with reasonable prices but took our entire deposit. They made up bogus charges and damages when we did not do any damage to the rental car. If you do rent from them, take videos of the entire car at pick up and drop off. Be very careful of what you sign - they had us sign the drop off paperwork at pick up so they could make up damages.

Unfortunately, like many other customers, I have to confirm that this is a scam. Be careful not to believe in this company called CanaryCarsa , that appears online as SurPrice Car rentals but in the rental contract appears as "Doyoo Spain". Also be aware not to trust the fake sweet friendly lady who welcomes you and gives you a car fully damaged in the dark pretending to mark the damage with the help of a torch! If you have not taken out an insurance with them, they will give you a car that has already been previously damaged and upon drop off the car, they will try to invent a way to charge you for damages and steal from your credit card, as much money as possible. Without any formal justification and in a criminal manner. What they can't steal from insurance companies, they steal from naive customers. In my case 350EUR- I have asked for an immediate refund today. Never Again!

Exceptional company!! I rented a van for me and my family to use in tenerife the van was immaculate and very well looked after we had a fantastic holiday the lady who give us the vehicle was very professional and organised. We brought the van back undamaged and received our full deposit back thankyou so much luisa and canary car we will see you again soon

It is a scam company. Be careful don't use this service. if you use this you will pay a lot of money because they will deceive you.

Scam company. They will keep your deposit and lie about damages. The only positive reviews are from the owner (Manuel), workers (Luisa) and their friends. That tells you everything you need to know about this business.

They operate through Surprice. Difficult to deal with especially getting your deposit back. Not worth the hassle. I will never use them again.

Scammed me too. They have you sign the 2 part damage report twice at the start along with about 8 other signatures places. Then gut your deposit. Also trade tru Discover and as Surprice cars with Airport pickup.
