How can they close at 18.30, when the trains continue to arrive until much later??
After having a perfectly pleasant experience picking up our car in Madrid, we found that there were a number of issues with the car (broken key fob, sensor broken). Upon our returning of the car at this location, one of the staff members became incensed that we would try to switch it out, because she had the same car. We had no criticism of the make and model, the specific car had issues. This same woman yelled at us multiple times because she "had the same car." If not for the quick thinking and humor of the other employee (whose name I sadly didn't catch) - I'm not sure we would have gotten a newer and safer car. I've never once been yelled at by a representative of any company, let alone when the fault is with the company, and we were simply trying to remedy a situation. The hostility and contempt we were met with was shocking, and she even blocked us from trying to pay to upgrade the car. Have never seen someone turn down business simply to spite someone for no reason. Update : After following all the previous procedures as asked, I was given a rather feckless and offensive response from the Avis customer service. As opposed to addressing the screaming employee, the Avis team stated that I had lied about the issues with our car, going entirely upon the word of the woman who had screamed at us. As opposed to dealing with the issue, they sent the concern to an area manager, who will "look at procedure." Toothless. Then, as if it would somehow allay the offense, they were 'magnanimous' enough to offer EUR10 discount the next time I rent a car with them. Which expires in 11 months. All I wanted was to drive a car that works and not be screamed at when an issue arose. Is that such a tall order in this day and age?
Charged us an extra 35 Eur regarding a tank that was already full. They are stating that was missing 4 Eur, and the 35 was for the fuell We have a photo just before returning the car. We paid all the extras that they offered us, only to avoid any future burdern. Important to say that, the lady on Granada where we took the car, even told to us that would be cheaper to let Avis fill the tank, because their gas was cheaper. Liars. Give our money back. Already sent a similar message on you instagram, Avis.
Easy rental and return. Cars in the car park right outside the office/station entrance. Overnight returns possible with key drop box. I've rented from Avis in Spain, France and Italy and it has been the easiest in Spain. Plus absolutely no up selling.
The service at Avis in Cordoba was nothing short of terrible. The staff were horribly rude. We admitted that we did a mistake with the booking and we needed their help to solve this but all they did was scold us and told us you did not respect the rules of the company. They even did a fake booking to show us that we did something wrong even after we said we know we did something wrong. Guess what though? We were obviously able to patch up things by calling their customer service center in the UK which were extremely helpful and catered to our needs even with a small fee to our journey. In all cases, if you have a trip in the south of Spain, make sure NOT to get a car from Avis in Cordoba given their rude, unprofessional, and outright unfriendly staff :)
First, several amounts are charged to the credit card that do not correspond to the contracted amount, and after 2 hours of delay, the entire amount for the next day is charged (unattractive, but I can accept that), including an additional insurance, which is a rip-off.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I had the Erasmus discount, so i said why not choose AVIS? We paid with another card, not the one of the driver and they said us no, we can't give you the car, the card must be at the name of the driver. There wasn't a warning during our booking and is not mentioned inside the website. As for the lady at the shop...worst service and very rude! The result was to rent from Hertz and pay more money, in order to not lose our total vacation....
The most efficient service that we have experienced in Spain. We returned our car at the designated parking space and brought the key back to the Avis counter. The staff took the key and went to exam the car while we waited by the counter. 5 minutes later, the whole process was done. Highly recommend to rent car here
