DO NOT BOOK WITH HERTZ. This company added additional coverage on my rental after I declined it at the desk. I never signed for it and specifically asked why they needed my card when I booked online and confirmed that I was not being charged for anything additional. When I realized that I was charged for additional coverage, I went to the desk and asked them to remove the charge and was told they would open an investigation and review the front counter footage. I said this was great as they would be able to see that I declined coverage immediately, as I explicitly said I had coverage through my credit card. Anita, the Hertz agent, confirmed she would reach out within 1 to 3 business days. However, she never did and I emailed three times over a span of a month asking for an update. I will be reporting this elsewhere, dispute this claim, and will never use Hertz again.
Be aware this location, make sure they close your contract after you returned the rental car. I returned my rental car and they didn't close my rental contract. My account has been withdraw $100 daily!!! I called this location the voicemail was full and no one ever answer the phone. I called the customer service line, they can't do anything either, they can only email this location to close my contract ASAP.
Stephanie the manager is a true angel. I had 3 kids with me and was so overwhelmed and stressed. Stephanie made sure to take care of me quickly and got me everything I needed. I have never been more thankful to have met her in the moment. Stephanie was professional and very well knowledgeable. She blessed me that day and took the stress away right when I needed her. I can't thank Stephanie enough and she is an asset to this company !
After renting a car online for my daughter who was traveling with 2 very small children the man that gave her her rental made it sound like she was signing the agreement that I had already agreed to and paid for, she was hit with an extra $1055 on her credit card. Then you can't just call and talk to a person to try to fix the problem. If you actually do get through by pushing random buttons, they tell you that nothing can be done until you return the car so all of her spending money for her vacation is tied up in a rental that she probably won't ever get her money back for. Well done taking advantage of a stressed out traveling mother.
I had arranged and reserved a car rental at a different car rental service within the Charlotte Douglass International Airport in North Carolina. After being jockeyed around to various locations with the airport to find my rental, I finally returned to the spot i started at. I was told that they had the reservation but not the actual car rental at the moment. I would have to wait an additional hour at least, after spending over an hour and a half on a wild chase for it. Venting my frustration verbally, a representative from the Hertz desk next to the rental service i reserved from, came over and discussed the problem. 3 individuals within the business should be commended for stepping up where the other company's personnel just dropped the baton. They did some searching and inquiries, and within about 10 minutes had the model car i had ordered, the paperwork done, and the car waiting for me. These individuals who deserve not only recognition, but a Life Saving Medal as well are: Blessing, Wes, and Dejah. I have no last names, and not sure of the precise spelling, but these were the 3 angels who came to my rescue and saved my family vacation. Without their willingness to help, expertise in handling the conflict, and professional integrity, i would have been left with either a longer waiting period to endure, or high and dry with no rental for the trip that was to begin the next day, with plans and reservations dangling. Thank you so much to these diligent representatives of your company. Their merits should be appreciated and recognized. Because of them, our family reunion was a success, and our multi-family households will definitely be Hertz customers from now on, and have relayed referrals to all I know seeking car rentals. Customer service was Ok. However we were given a dirty vehicle. Then had to return it about a mile out from the airport because the car was slipping and sliding around the road. Turns out the tires were bald. Car had 57k miles on it. Doubt they were ever changed. And the car was probably rented out again immediately. They did not seem to care at all. Hertz has really gone downhill since their glory days.
I've been a gold member renting for almost 20 years and this was the worst experience I've ever had with them! Before pickup I made sure everything was submitted for a easy pickup to avoid the counter, submitted my id credit card chose my vehicle 30 before arrival , received my lot number where vehicle supposed to be located only to arrive with someone else pulling out with it ! The first guy was no help at all directed me to the counter, saying they have to figure something out , then the lady at counter tried to direct me to a different counter stating where I was is for gold memebers keep in mind I am a gold member. Finally the third lady was helping she ended up somehow getting the initial vehicle back I seen the family they gave it to pull back around and park it back where I was supposed to pick it up from and unload there items . Also the return was challenging , I returned at 5am no one was there and there is no after hour drop off or clear directions of how to return . I literally had to leave my vehicle outside the gate with keys and hope for the best.
I'd like to recognize Ryan Fore at Hertz in Charlotte at the airport. I arrived to the pick up lot and found that my reservation had been closed out and my pee selected car was gone. As each person tried to help, I waited longer with no solution. Finally a manager was called and Ryan creatively found a solution to my problem looking at what was best for me but created a lot of extra work for him. I'd like to thank him for caring and thinking outside the box. Thank you for being a true professional and providing me with world class service .
