DO NOT BOOK WITH HERTZ. This company added additional coverage on my rental after I declined it at the desk. I never signed for it and specifically asked why they needed my card when I booked online and confirmed that I was not being charged for anything additional. When I realized that I was charged for additional coverage, I went to the desk and asked them to remove the charge and was told they would open an investigation and review the front counter footage. I said this was great as they would be able to see that I declined coverage immediately, as I explicitly said I had coverage through my credit card. Anita, the Hertz agent, confirmed she would reach out within 1 to 3 business days. However, she never did and I emailed three times over a span of a month asking for an update. I will be reporting this elsewhere, dispute this claim, and will never use Hertz again.

Be aware this location, make sure they close your contract after you returned the rental car. I returned my rental car and they didn't close my rental contract. My account has been withdraw $100 daily!!! I called this location the voicemail was full and no one ever answer the phone. I called the customer service line, they can't do anything either, they can only email this location to close my contract ASAP.

Stephanie the manager is a true angel. I had 3 kids with me and was so overwhelmed and stressed. Stephanie made sure to take care of me quickly and got me everything I needed. I have never been more thankful to have met her in the moment. Stephanie was professional and very well knowledgeable. She blessed me that day and took the stress away right when I needed her. I can't thank Stephanie enough and she is an asset to this company !

After renting a car online for my daughter who was traveling with 2 very small children the man that gave her her rental made it sound like she was signing the agreement that I had already agreed to and paid for, she was hit with an extra $1055 on her credit card. Then you can't just call and talk to a person to try to fix the problem. If you actually do get through by pushing random buttons, they tell you that nothing can be done until you return the car so all of her spending money for her vacation is tied up in a rental that she probably won't ever get her money back for. Well done taking advantage of a stressed out traveling mother.

I had arranged and reserved a car rental at a different car rental service within the Charlotte Douglass International Airport in North Carolina. After being jockeyed around to various locations with the airport to find my rental, I finally returned to the spot i started at. I was told that they had the reservation but not the actual car rental at the moment. I would have to wait an additional hour at least, after spending over an hour and a half on a wild chase for it. Venting my frustration verbally, a representative from the Hertz desk next to the rental service i reserved from, came over and discussed the problem. 3 individuals within the business should be commended for stepping up where the other company's personnel just dropped the baton. They did some searching and inquiries, and within about 10 minutes had the model car i had ordered, the paperwork done, and the car waiting for me. These individuals who deserve not only recognition, but a Life Saving Medal as well are: Blessing, Wes, and Dejah. I have no last names, and not sure of the precise spelling, but these were the 3 angels who came to my rescue and saved my family vacation. Without their willingness to help, expertise in handling the conflict, and professional integrity, i would have been left with either a longer waiting period to endure, or high and dry with no rental for the trip that was to begin the next day, with plans and reservations dangling. Thank you so much to these diligent representatives of your company. Their merits should be appreciated and recognized. Because of them, our family reunion was a success, and our multi-family households will definitely be Hertz customers from now on, and have relayed referrals to all I know seeking car rentals. Thank you Blessing, Wes, and Dejah.

Customer service was Ok. However we were given a dirty vehicle. Then had to return it about a mile out from the airport because the car was slipping and sliding around the road. Turns out the tires were bald. Car had 57k miles on it. Doubt they were ever changed. And the car was probably rented out again immediately. They did not seem to care at all. Hertz has really gone downhill since their glory days.

I've been a gold member renting for almost 20 years and this was the worst experience I've ever had with them! Before pickup I made sure everything was submitted for a easy pickup to avoid the counter, submitted my id credit card chose my vehicle 30 before arrival , received my lot number where vehicle supposed to be located only to arrive with someone else pulling out with it ! The first guy was no help at all directed me to the counter, saying they have to figure something out , then the lady at counter tried to direct me to a different counter stating where I was is for gold memebers keep in mind I am a gold member. Finally the third lady was helping she ended up somehow getting the initial vehicle back I seen the family they gave it to pull back around and park it back where I was supposed to pick it up from and unload there items . Also the return was challenging , I returned at 5am no one was there and there is no after hour drop off or clear directions of how to return . I literally had to leave my vehicle outside the gate with keys and hope for the best.

I'd like to recognize Ryan Fore at Hertz in Charlotte at the airport. I arrived to the pick up lot and found that my reservation had been closed out and my pee selected car was gone. As each person tried to help, I waited longer with no solution. Finally a manager was called and Ryan creatively found a solution to my problem looking at what was best for me but created a lot of extra work for him. I'd like to thank him for caring and thinking outside the box. Thank you for being a true professional and providing me with world class service .

Do not book with them. We booked a reservation 4 months ago. When we came, there was no car. Have to take a $191 Lyft ride at 11 PM to get to another city 1 hour away. Its like that episode of Seinfeld.

Hertz customer service is gone down hill over the past years. I am a president member and the last three rentals the customer service has been terrible. Most of the employees I have contact with are rude . Considering another rental company in the future

My rental experience at this specific location fell short. Staff were rude to me. As a President Circle member, I expected to have a more seamless experience, but unfortunately, there were limited cars available on the lot. Never again... Ill be taking my business elsewhere next time

I have issues every time a get a car here. Sadly, my company demands I get my cars from Hertz. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Cars arent clean, the employees always have issues getting people through the gate with their cars and the prices are high. Dont do it people. ;-)

This place is totally unreachable by phone. I returned a car after hours and put the key in the drop box. 8 hours later, the car had still not been checked in. I spent an hour on the phone with roadside assistance, Hertz vehicle control department, and nobody could get through to the station because the voicemail was full. Eventually the voicemail started working. I left five messages over the course of the afternoon, asking them to check the box, and nobody called back. 20 hours after I left the car, there was still no indication that it had been processed. So I had to abandon the family dinner and drive an hour one way, to go hunt down the car and get it sorted out. When I got there, turns out it had been processed 4 hours earlier, but nobody could be bothered to tell me and there was no email. It was almost time to report the car stolen. Because these guys decide to not be reachable (and to not look into their drop box) they wasted several hours of my day.

This location is HORRIBLE! I have been a Gold member for years and it s usually smooth sailing if there are no issues. Well this time around I needed roadside assistance. My vehicle had to he towed into their Rackham Dr location right by CLT airport, which was arranged by HERTZ! They ended my rental 4 hours earlier than scheduled. This was on Tuesday. For some reason they continue try and charge my card outrageous amounts because the record has not been closed and they think that I still have the car. The accounting department says they can t help me until the site closes the record. Roadside assistance says that the record on their end states the car was received. None of the departments communicate with each other or have access to each other s records it seems. Every other department has been sending them emails since Wednesday to close the record but they have not! It is now FRIDAY and they tried to charge my card an additional $717 this morning for an unreceived vehicle, which I rejected. I will not allow them to take another dime from me unless I speak to someone!!! Especially when I m owed a credit! There is NO ONE to talk to. They don t answer their phones. Hertz has an option to fill out a contact form online and wait 3-5 business days for someone to respond which is outrageous. How do they get away with this level of crappy customer service?! I will NEVER do business with them again! RESPONSE TO THEIR REVIEW: that messenger address that they send you to is FAKE. They only reply to reviews to make it seem like they re on top of it. It s officially 1 weeks since I ve returned the vehicle and they have still not closed the record.

Do not book Hertz at the Charlotte Airport. I m a frequent business traveler and I typically book Hertz. Today I had to sit in my car for over 40 minutes just to leave the garage: one open gate and 20 cars waiting to leave. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location I m done with Hertz

If I could give zero stars I would. The only reason I am bothering to post is to warn people of the ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE management and service at this location. The manager gave us total attitude when our rental cost went up $500 (rental paperwork said $300, final cost $800 after all of their fees) said well if you re just expensing this for business why does it matter . I hope whoever their boss is reads this and understands their absolute disregard for budgets and professional respect. The exit from the garage then took OVER 40 minutes, and customers were walking around and getting out of cars to figure out the problem, only to be given attitude by the booth attendants. Never again will we rent from Hertz.

Zero stars. Hertz is the worst in customer service and the Charlotte location justifies this. Do not leave this facility without being 100% sure the rental is closed out because you will get the worst support you will ever experience in trying to resolve it. Hertz should have just went bankrupt and left the rental business altogether. I regret renting from Hertz and I blame myself for keep trying.

Arrived at my pickup time to be told there s a 2 hour wait. Asked why and they said they have no cars. So I asked them if they have policies about this with no answer except that they don t rent out cars to people on the same day. After that I asked why don t you have any cars and they said we had a flight cancelation yesterday and gave our rentals away. After that they shut up and looked away when they realized that they contradicted themselves.
