For anyone thinking of renting a car in Colombia, a warning: driving 54 km/h in a 40km/h zone costs you 140 euros! A total rip-off. The quality of cars is pretty bad and the traffic and driving in cities is absolutely insane, people just ignore all of the rules. I would never do it again, it was the worst experience with a rental car ever (and I travelled quite a bit). Europcar was ok though, I just would not rent a car in Colombia in general.

We booked a VW Virtus, but got a VW Gol, so it was a downgrade. The guys in the office were nice and they told me that they would report the downgrade to the head office. However, when I claimed the difference in price between paid and received category (which is well documented), Europcar refused to pay the difference, so my booking platform is now claiming against Europcar. Let's see how this plays out legally.

I almost didn't rent here because of the bad reviews but I gave it a shot knowing that you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Angel helped me with my car rental, he was friendly and he tried real hard to do his best in English which was better than my Spanish! I got a real nice car, clean with no issues. The transaction was quick and seamless. There was a mixup upon my return with the gas but thankfully I took a picture of the meter. Always take a photo and a video of your car upon rental. Humans make mistakes we're not robots. Anyway, hopefully there isn't any latent transactions but I'd definitely rent here again. Thanks Angel!

At first, friendly local people. The good. We got an automatic instead of the manual gearbox without extra cost. That was good. The bad. They charged us for two drivers, what we didn't ask. One driver is one driver and not two. So that was 33.000 COP too much. In this way, I did pay for the automatic gearbox I guess.

Service was good but they charged my cc again a year after without any communication. Be aware

Very very slow and Incompetent. Cannot speak English. We didn't get the cat that we booked online. We got a downgrade without any discount. Better look for another car rental.
