Car Rental San Juan SJU in Carolina

STAY AWAY. LOOK FOR OTHER PROVIDERS. I wish I had read the reviews before making the reservation. 1. They will charge you an admin of $50 for using their EZ Pass. Other car renters will only change the toll amount. I learned that PR law requires the renters to provide the EZ pass tag without any additional charge. 2. They will send you a bill with additional insurance and roadside assistance. I had denied these as I had purchased the insurance through Expedia at booking. Your only option is to dispute through the CC company. 3. Overall the car was just okay. The initial quote I received was for $180, but I ended up paying $460 for 4 days.

We are happy we did not end up using thrifty at this location. We called a few days prior and were given false information about using our own insurance and the paperwork that was needed. We get to the location and the staff are INCREDIBLY UNHELPFUL. We had just traveled for 4 hours to be met by rude and unhelpful staff who did minimal if anything when it came to their job. You can't trust what they tell you over the phone, and they won't try to help you in anyway. Thankfully we had 2 reservations which we ended up getting a car from. Use Ace/Charlies in San Juan rental they are so easy and KIND! DO NOT GO WITH THRIFTY!

Reserved the vehicle online and got a quote of 378.23. Declined any upgrades other than the toll express device for $7.99/day (14 days) = 111.86. Once I received my invoice after the drop off my bill was $923. Company charged me $280 for an upgrade and $70 for Roadside Assistance. Also there is a $80 airport access fee that wasn't disclosed at the time of rental. Called to dispute for charges that I did not request and they gave me the run around. Be very careful if you rent from this location.

This car rental is a rip off. So you use your own insurance most of them insures a car rental. If your try to use it they charge you a $500 deposit. If your used theirs its only $250. My advise make sure before you to clarify that. Its a rip off .. I differnently use this rental company.

Did thrifty because it was one of the few options that came up as in-terminal, and it was a good rate. At counter felt bait n switch and discrimination. Unless you have the same last name and address as your spouse, they charge an additional fee. They also charge you with a toll pass fee. Manager was no help. He actually quoted fees higher than the agent did. Felt pre 1964. Probably ended up waiting as long as an off site rental.

Thrifty had our cars. Attendants were polite and efficient. Car did have dents and scratches on it and we took photos and videos before we left. Did not have any problems with return. Right on airport grounds so that was nice.

I had the best experience with Thrify, costumer service was excellent! Thanks to Emilio that guide me through renting process explaining very clearly. I'm looking forward on renting again with Trifty on my next trip to Puerto Rico. All I can say is Thank you once again Emilio for all your help! Excellent customer service!!

I've read multiple reviews in regards to this place and to be honest I was a little hesitant to rent a car here but my experience with them was perfect. I arrived and find the location, picking up my car was so quick and easy. I understand that sometimes the website gives some of us different prices but it's also depending on our needs. For example. I was quoted one price but when I asked for the $5.99 pass for the tolls the price went higher and of course that is understandable. I was offered their insurance but I wasn't force to take it as my credit card has it's own. I had a last minute change of flight and had to get in contact with them but unfortunately they didn't pick up the phone in two days. I got in contact with them via FB and was somewhat helped. I was trying to return my car before they opened so I had to drive to the actual place and they told me I could just leave the car at the return with the keys inside and they would do the return for me. I was VERY scared as I though the could invent dings or scratches etc but they didn't. I was overall happy with the experience and the workers are all very helpful. I would just recommend them answering the phone.
