The pick up desk was closed upon arrival, and none of the phone numbers are working. Our flight was to arrive at 23:30 and they closed 23:50, although we had pre-reserved the car. We had to take a taxi for EUR170 just to get to our hotel, and now still trying to get a hold of the desk. No one is picking up the phone and we are now spending our holiday trying to find out how and if we are going to get our rental car. A day worth of rental is already wasted and there is no information available, and we don't even know if we will get a refund. Probably not. Waste of time and energy for us, and completely lack of customer service towards paying customers.
Very helpful guy at the counter, and very quick turn around. The only issue is that a booking e-mail said pickup was at Alicante Train Station. Avis need to make sure customers are directed to Calle Carlet 2, for pickup, which is a street 5 minutes away.
Wonderful service and a huge thank you to the ladies who helped me at Alicante airport -both the main desk in the airport and at the car pick-up. I needed to get back to the UK for an emergency and would only have done so with their help, ingenuity and sorting me out a car immediately then and there. Provided more help and ideas than any airline or travel agent! Clean car with English sat nav which saved me in the chaos. They were so kind and efficient. Sadly I didn't get their names but great customer service and help.
The service from the lady at Alicante airport was exceptional, thank you. You (sorry I never got you name) organised us a last minute car for a week long trip, when it became tooo hot for us in Alicante, we could drive up the coast to a cooler region and leave the car at our last stop Girona, thank you, you made our Spain trip unforgettable.
Awful awful awful customer service. Their app is a disaster, you can't rent the same day in it. Then I tried to contact them to book by phone..IMPOSSIBLE to get someone, no contact number in Madrid, had to go through their 902 helpline and these THIEVES charged me 140 CHF(Swiss francs ,same amount in $) to keep me waiting for 20 min and no one picking the damn phone. 7$ a minute! Where have you seen that? NO one answers my emails, impossible to get any answer. CROOKS!
Tried to overcharge me by PS150. They would have got away with it I if I hadn't checked my final invoice. They refunded my money in two days without argument I hope this is a on off and they don't become another Goldcar
Do not use! Do not rent a car!! After 40 Min we finally had our car...after long waiting due to 1 colleague working (3 in the office) and after 1 computer crash during booking process. Then that guy gave me the key finally and didn't check the car with us. Officially the car had zero damages. But when returning the car big surprise: a small crack from previous booking (not me!!) in wheel cover is charged to me with nearly 200EUR!!! For ridiculous small car (Fiat Panda) costing 60EUR our total rental fee raised to 300EUR!!! Betrayer!!! Attention! Do not book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awful experience. I rented a car in August 2018 at Alicante Airport. They withdrawn the money again from my account a few weeks after I left Spain, although everything was paid when I returned the car and now in January 2019 they withdrawn another amount of money without my knowledge or information just because they had my card details. I had to deny the payments through the bank. I will never rent from them again!
