Avis in Camargo

Although the initial process at the terminal desk was quite quick, there was no one from Budget / Avis available at the car collection point so a great deal of time was wasted because:- 1 The inside of the windscreen was filthy which made it dangerous to drive.( we had to 'borrow' some cleaning material from a helpful taxi driver!) 2 Although the receptionist had told us that the car was new and unmarked, there were several scrapes / scratches on the vehicle. 3 The driving control system was set to a language I did not recognise and the only documentation in the vehicle was in Spanish which we were not able to translate into the language set by the previous user. No Wifi in the car park so we weren't able to Google a solution.

This place is just a pure scam. We rented a car for 650EUR with the deposit. The deposit was 300EUR. After returning the car, we found out that the deposit is not a deposit. It was "insurgence" that was irreversible. But that is not the end of the story. After the lending of our plane we found out they charged us once more for 500EUR! When we "contacted" them via phone, nobody would answer. When we contacted them via email, nobody would respond. They just purely scammed us. Ps: we made sure not to damage the car! Cleaned it and returned it with full gas tank ( witch also wasn't charged back ) DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY/CROOKS

The Budget hire car was dangerous. The steering was unstable making the car rock and swerve from side to side. Warning lights flashed and loud alerts sounded. It was terrifying. It kept happening at speeds well below the speed limit. Drove the car straight back to the airport. Chose not to take a replacement car because we had genuinely feared for our safety. Really couldn't trust them not to give us another dangerous car. Asked for a refund for the remaining 8 days which was flatly refused. No apology nor concern for the ordeal we had been through. Never experienced this before from any hire car company. Don't use them.

Great experience with Avis in Santander. We asked for upgrade and got a great new Audi car for a small fee. Agent was very nice and the whole experience was very smooth.

My recent experience with Budget Santander Airport was great. The service was great, the car was excellent (pretty new - 10.000km), the prices were in line with other offers, but the $300 deposit was the lowest and made me choose Budget. It's not the first rental from a Budget office, but the service was great as usual.

BEEN CHARGED 87 EUROS FOR MISSING MAX 5 LITTER OF GASOLINE!!!!!! We have rented a car and have been told that we have to return it with a full tank. They took a deposit of 87 euros. We gave it back with almost a full tank. There were missing like 5 litters. We realized this once we were at the airport parking we forgot to put the gasoline in again. We wanted to leave the airport to put the gasoline but were told that once we returned to the airport the system would not let us leave because it recognized it had been returned. SO we had no choice but to leave it like this. There was missing a few liters of gasoline. They charge us the FULL DEPOSIT OF 87 EUROS!!!! The car did not even have space to fill with gasoline of this value!!! This is how they earn money. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!! BE CAREFUL!!!!

It is not often, having hired cars previously from a number of different car hire firms, that you have a pleasant experience. Prior to picking up the car, I had used the Avis pre-book app to upload my details, so a lot of the paperwork was already done. The staff member was extremely efficient and I was able to collect the car almost immediately, which greatly surprised me. The car was excellent and in good order. A pleasure to drive in fact. On return, it couldn't have been simpler. Park the car, drop off the keys and then later when vetted, I received an email confirmation that all was fine. That it all went smoothly and without hassle was cause for celebration given some of the experiences I have had. Will I book with them again. Most certainly.

Budget-AVIS Santander airport (pick-up) and Bilbao airport (return) Good service, polite and helpful staff. Quick and easy process. Previous incidents on the car were clearly identified before I started driving the rent car. Budget do not stress customers with non-sense.. milimeter scratches after the car return (opposite to terrible rent car companies like Goldcar).
