This place isn't worth not even one star. 30 people queueing up to collect their car since 9 am, but it turns out they don't have cars to rent (in a car rental place, they do this as a job, right?).. they told us to wait at least 1 hour because they might get some cars at some point during the day but after 2 hours waiting it turns out that they will not have cars before the afternoon. A weekend destroyed for their incompetence. I forgot to mentioned that they did not offer the option to cancel the reservation free of charge and get a refund.
"It was one of my worst experiences with this company. Despite their full-tank policy, they gave me the car with only seven-eighths of a tank. I noticed this after driving for only 5 minutes, but fortunately, I had taken a picture of the fuel gauge, as they always recommend doing. When I returned the car with the same seven-eighths of a tank and showed the employee the picture, their response was that I should have pointed it out when I first received the car. However, they don't take responsibility for the fact that when they state in the contract that the car will be delivered with a full tank, they are guaranteeing it. They shouldn't shift this responsibility onto the customer, who might be in a rush or distracted when picking up the car. Ultimately, they fined me around 50 euros for one-eighth of a tank, which is 3 to 4 times its actual price. Even worse was the employee's reaction, accusing me of lying and suggesting I had used up one-eighth of the tank in the first 10 minutes. This was despite knowing that it takes 5 to 10 minutes just to drive out of the parking lot and start the journey. The photo I took of the partially empty tank was taken around 15 minutes after officialy picking up the car." The second scam is that in the contract, they mentioned that the car was delivered with 48,350 kilometers on the odometer. However, in the picture I took 10 minutes after receiving the car (when I realized the fuel tank wasn't full), it shows that the car had 48,809 kilometers. They fined me an additional 159 euros for the excess mileage." This means they delivered the car to me with a 459-kilometer difference in the mileage, and they fined me for their own irresponsibility and carelessness.
We've rented a couple of times from record go in Barcelona. Compared to other rental, the services, the waiting time, prices and service is better! The only downside is that the cars are located on -4 in the parking house with very narrow passages down. But it's manageable.
I rented out a car which was not serviced. With a mileage of 51000 km the next day after pick up I got a message that the oil tank is empty. They are not responding to any phone calls. For over two days now. The office is just redirecting me to the rental spot. I came to this office and after an hour of scandal, I managed to get confirmation that another car would be provided. Even though I waited for their call over a day - no one called me back. I wasted my time and fuel. The road took 150km both ways. They still charged me for fuel. And their fuel rate is 2x higher than at the gas station. I am complaining to their customer services and trying to solve the situation, but so far no success. In some cases it seems like this company is a fraudster. I hope they could reach me back with the solution UPD: so far I have created a request and send an email to custom service, but they do not respond. Polite answer at Google maps - is the only thing they can do
Normally I have a great experience with RecordGo. However this time it was different. The car took over half hour to be delivered. Cleaning and other things were required though I picked it up 1 hour later than scheduled. The car had a few performance issues which is probably due to high turnaround in high season. Car wasn't properly cleaned, maintained, or ready in many aspects. Still rating 4 stars because overall my experience with this company is positive.
We rented a car twice in Spain, Alicante and Barcelona. Both times were easy to do online bookings. We loved the little Fiat, it was perfect for Spain's roads. We got full coverage direct from Record Go. No deposit was needed, with this coverage which was a massive saving, of 1300 euros deposit. No limit on milage was fantastic and very easy, quick drop off. you only make a 75-100 euro deposit for petrol which gets paid back after 7 days if you fill up the petrol on drop off. The only issue we had was changing our pick up time to earlier, this was a frustration, as they could not assist us and our accommodation had cancelled on us last minute, so we had no option but to wait hours for the car. That was a pity. they don't allow cross boarder travel and you have to drop off at the same collection point. Good news is, they take South African drivers licenses. All in all a great experience! Just make sure you book the right pick up time!
I recently used Record Go for the first time, and the experience was fantastic. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Despite being told that it might take 2-3 days to get my deposit back, I received it instantly upon returning the car. The car was new and a joy to drive.
