We had a very bad experience, this week, I don't know if that is Avis of Fuertoventura or Avis in general, probably only Avis themselves may be able to explain. We hired a car from Alua village resort Fuertoventura for a week on 29th January., fairly new car, expected to be good. After driving a fair distance, an Amber light flashed on the dash board. Promptly stopped, checked and realised that the air pressure was low. Called the emergency number, reported. They asked me to take the car to the nearest AVIScar rental office, to be replaced by another car. As the representative in Alua village was not there, the hotel receptionist, checked to find out the next nearest office in Costa calma, which according to their website open till 9pm. We drove upto that place, which was 18km away, only to find out the office was deserted, with no one to deal with the problem. Poor Hotel receptionist tried several numbers for an hour with no avil/luck. Wasted half day, and drove 36km for nothing. I wonder, how will Avis car rental will compensate for wasting half day holiday and unnecessary journey of 36km. Next morning, reported to the rep, who said, she will report to the company and let them decide about compensation. I am yet to hear of the apology or the compensation from Avis. Booked a car through the portal in the sheraton Hotel reception. The car was a good price given I was booking at a days notice and they had a good selection of audi's available. The car was very clean and in good condition. The staff were very good and at the avis desk early for my collection time. Would use them again, very happy.
Staying at Hotel Elba Carlota Beach we've had a great experience renting a car from this company. We've ordered a car from a portal at the reception and it was brought and taken away at the exact time we've agreed on. Also the employees and condition of cars were pleasurable. We've payed around 42EUR per 24h rental of VW Polo and Hyundai i20 respectively. Highly recommend
Avis Car Rental hopefully you will respond here, since there is no response to complaints via the official route. Talking about and selling additional insurance and then not giving it home, drawing your own conclusions, charge way to many for reparations and being treated downright rudely; is this your policy? It seems more like an scam! Why Avis (international) do you allow this kind of private parties to be part of your organization? Also not respond through official channels. "At Avis you know what you are getting" ; your own slogan. Not so! Please respond professionally!
Machine working very well. Booked a car and 1hr later it was brought to the hotel. Very nice and professional experience!
You can book your car on the iPad provided by avis. It's very simple. On the pick-up day an avis agent hands you over the key (very simple and fast process). On the day you return the car you can check-out by yourself on the iPad again. Also very simple and fast. Sometimes the iPad did not work but the staff at the reception can help you in this case. The price was really fair and the cars are all new and clean. Highly recommend!
We booked the car at Barcello Castillo for the next day. The car was delivered on time and the service guy was nice and explained also the return procedure. The car was a Class B Polo TFSI which was clean and in quit good shape. Returning the car at the Hotel using the terminal worked perfectly. I asked in advance what we should do if the terminal (iPad) would not work when we return ( it did not work on day of pickup) the guy said it would be sufficient to drop the key in the box. Therefore great experience!
The car return was supposed to be done using avis automat in Sheraton lobby.Well, I was there in good time but the automat did not work.Neither did the phone hanging on it.The Avis Fuerteventura telephone numbers I found on internet did not answer.No e mail addres for avis Fuerteventura is shown anywhere.I gave up sn left the car Keys to Reception and they kindly agreed to give them to an Avis person, if one ever shows up.But how can I prove that I have returned the car? do not rely on Avis automat for return. reservation no8960842883
