ZERO STARS!!! NEVER AGAIN, PLEASE BEWARE!!!!! We've used Goldcar Almeria a couple of times, but last week when we returned our car, we got an e-mail saying the car had been damaged (scratches on boot) WITH pictures. As we were still in the city (I guess David from Goldcar had gambled we were on a plane back home already) we decided to go back to the airport and see the 'damage' for ourselves. Went to the car to check the damage but THERE WAS NONE!!!! Upon further inspection of the pics in the e-mail, we saw there a. was NO numberplate in the pics anywhere and b. someone had actually TAMPERED with the pics in paint or photoshop. It's amazing what they'll do to fleece tourists! After a few e-mails telling them of our plan of (legal) action, they quickly returned the deposit back into my account. DO NOT USE!!!!!!
Easy and smooth pick up of pre-arranged SUV at the airport. Vehicle was very clean and had a much higher spec than expected. It was very economical too which was a bonus. We did take particular care of it and treated it as if it was our own. We had absolutely no problems with any aspect of the rental. The return process was easy and straight forward too. The cost was slightly higher than some other rental companies but we had the car for 4 weeks and took the extra zero excess insurance out for peace of mind. We would definitely use Goldcar again in the future.
Engages in behaviour that would be illegal in the UK. We arrived at the airport late, so the Goldcar offices were shut... Returned the morning after to find that they've given away our car and have refused us a refund. So we've paid for a full week's car rental, and received nothing in return. Truly shocking. Avoid at all costs.
Super and quick car pick up with keys and go service. With super relax cover you don't need to leave a huge deposit which is excellent, just need to leave a small amount of deposit for fuel just in case if you will not return the car with full tank " fuel to fuel" policy. Recommended
Very helpful and obliging staff and a neat vehicle. Staff explained all the contract details well to ensure I didn't over- pay with exchange rates on the deposit, very human staff. Only inconvenience with the branch at Almeria airport is that they closed before my flight arrived at 8:30pm; if the branch was open later, this review would be 5 stars!
First time renting a car at Almeria airport with GoldCar and it went very fluently! The guy at the counter wasn't friendly though and barely said anything (literally just loose words like "drivers license"), which was quite a shame, as his female colleague seemed to be very nice and smiled a lot to other customers. It's always nicer to be helped with a smile of course. The car itself was fine and returning it before office opening hours was very easy and clearly indicated next to the office. Thank you for the clear signage, it was a relief. :) Overall very good service and also from the general customer service, which I had contacted by email beforehand with some questions. Will be back next time!
Appalling service **GOLDCAR ALMERIA AIRPORT** Paid for the super relax additional cover, don't be hoodwinked. I was charged EUR150 euros extra on top with no explanation, no response, or correspondence despite numerous emails. The car was dirty following a holiday with young children to a resort with a beach. The seats need a wipe down and the car a valet- when does a car hire company not valet a car anyway? This is on top of the car being dirty when we picked it up! Photos attached It's dishonest and not right hang your heads in shame EUR150
I had only good experience, the staff is great and the car was like new. Definitely recommend the better insurance, it is worth it. Will use them again.
