far from the airport. Prices not transparent. Gave us a car from a cheaper class and didn't tell us, we found out by accident.

Be very careful when hiring from this place. I booked a car through You Do Spain and when I got to the pick up which is not at the airport by the way, I was told I did not have insurance with my booking! I was then sold additional insurance costing 98 Euros which I did not need. When I rung back to complain I was told bad luck! Book elsewhere - I would not be using these guys - go to a car hire on the airport - more professional and no tricks!! 4th July - So 4 weeks after returning the hire car (4th June) and submitting an official complaint through the appropriate social media channels as requested the AVIS shop in Almeria has still not returned my deposit or responded to my complaint about being pushed in to buying insurance I did not need. Does anybody thinking of using this company need any more warning to stay away from AVIS Almeria. This company is very dodgy, buyer beware. I will keep posting across all platforms about AVIS Almeria until the issue is resolved.

Pick up and drop off of the car was easy and efficient. Only issue is it wasn't clear when I booked that it was off airport, though the airport shuttle is easy.

Rented a hire car from here via Jet2, this is an off airport location (approx 10mins), there was a lot of confusion, very poor pick up instructions on the rental voucher which led to unnecessary delays, no signs or info at all at the airport showing where to wait, not welcome when you get straight off a plane and have to wait 30 mins wondering if you are going to be picked up. Make sure you have the tel number because if the transfer shuttle isnt at the airport then you will need to call them directly which was what we had to do, when we were eventually picked up there was another couple in the mini bus who had experienced the same as us, they were just as confused and not pleased either with the delays and lack of information. Spanish & English speaking staff which eases some of the stress and a new Car was supplied, very clean but had multiple damages on it which several of I had to point out and get amended before I drove off as they were not noted as existing, shame as this added more stress having to go over car with a fine tooth comb. Personally I wouldn't rent again from here as when you return the vehicle there are even more delays as you need to wait to get the shuttle back to the airport, again stress I don't need on my holiday. Staff are friendly and professional so can't fault that, vehicle provided was larger then ordered at no additional cost but still didn't make up for the hassle, lost time tbh. My advice, rent at the airport, the rental companies are in the terminal and the cars opp the exit of the terminal in the car park all sign posted, drop off is the same, a lot easier.

Car hire wasn't open on the day we were leaving so we had no transport to the airport! No one answered on the phone this was super stressful and we were running late for our flight! This has really dampened the mood on our holiday and left us stressed out! We will NOT be using you again!

Pre-ordered a baby seat specifically sized for our 5 month old 2 months in advance and we were told this was not a problem at all and so we paid in advance to secure the booking. When the Shuttle bus arrived to take us from the airport it had no baby seat. When we finally got the car we were provided with an infant seat not the baby seat we had ordered. When we flagged the issue we were told it was the only one and it would be fine as it was adaptable even though the seat is for 9 months plus and our baby is 5 months old. We have checked and this does not meet the legal requirements in Spain and is not a safe seat for our child. We are now stranded with a car hire we can't use. Also when we asked about the fitting of the car seat we were told we had to do it ourselves - they could not provide assistance. We normally have very positive experiences with Avis but this has been awful.

Very nice woman helped, linguist ! Did not expect shuttle van to take you from airport to Avis center in town. In fact they called me to remind me to get on the bus. They don't have an office in airport and you have to return to center. No airport dropoff.

Very awful and fraudulent - rude and insulting lady staff could only come up with a phony "scratch" on the front bumper as "damage" claim when the vehicle was returned and with an unauthorized charge of 308 Euros. Here is the picture of the vehicle. The red circle is where she had to rub her hands on the dust to come up with the so called damage. Very interesting. Renters beware. This is a common problem renting vehicles in Spain...it's a shame! Don't take their insurance, rather have a full covered insurance at the point of renting. Be sure to take as many pictures as possible before you take vehicle from them even if it is in the night and they are about closing. When returning the vehicle, only fill the gas from the station that is closest to them. If possible at all, try not to rent a vehicle during your trip as you will save yourself lots of avoidable stress. It is that bad when it comes to car rental in Spain!
