I wish I had read the comments here before I rented car from them. One of every two comments are negativi that tells me it was my mistake to use them. I should have known.
Pressure you into talking extra insurance out then once you get there pressure you into taking a bigger care out so that's more money. I was PS786 for a car for a week with and an extra PS500 security deposit then I get told they found a 2mm scratch on the car. Cheaper actually buying a car in Spain
Good experience with Sixt. The woman who met us was friendly, helpful, and informative. While the car wasn't our favorite, we had no issues with the rental car company at all. It was super convenient to grab our car after getting off the train, and the after-hours key drop was great.
Not having renewed the monthly subscription, they fraudulently charged me the following month and did not refund it. I have had to report them, be very careful with the card you give them
The customer service for this trip has been extremely dissapointing. Starting with the car that we hired that had less boot space than I had booked. I paid extra to get another car with extra space. I did not realise I had only booked 350 kms while in the system I booked the car from Alicante to Barcelona. I have booked many trips and this was not an issue in the past, seems like a new way to get extra money. I had to pay the extra 200 km per km, my fault for not checking, but good customer service would have mentioned that unlimited would be a better option even if the poor system couldn't work out the distance. The car was booked with booster seats for my two young children, the seats were not in the car. I had to take my own seats for my two young children as we left early to get to Barcelona and I didn't have time to get new seats from Alicante office. Again, no phone call from customer service. After arriving in Barcelona, the seats were left with the office with the agreement they were going to send them back to Alicante. I was in a rush to get to the airport and they obviously just brushed me off. They have proceeded to lose the seats. The office and the customer service shifted blame and changed between losing them and having them. They proceeded to quote we EUR45 to send one, the seat is worth EUR30. I didn't want to take them to Barcelona, SIXT failed to provide them. The customer service is very slow and not very clear on what is happening. We purchased full insurance and they have not responded if it is part of the insurance. Very dissapointed in SIXT with these issues, they are very quick to add on extras for larger car, extra kms and new insurance but their system is unable to calculate the distance from Allicante to Barcelona (Google Maps does that) or return items (or safe guard them) that were essential for my trip that they failed to provide.
Great service! The person that met us was very kind and helpful, cars are top brands (as usual for Sixt) - we got a brand new Audi A3 with S-line and on only 2223km on the tacho, so we enjoyed our road trip a lot. That's why I always prefer Sixt - clear terms and conditions, reasonable prices, top service, great cars. Sixt, you are always a very important part of my journeys :))
