Contrary to many reviews here, I had a really good experience with a one way pickup from this station. I received the details on the car about an hour before the pickup time and the car was ready in front of the office when I arrived. The paperwork was straightforward and quick. The lady at the counter has been particularly friendly and helpful, and explained the various charges (including a refueling charge which was reserved on the card but not charged when I returned the car with the tank full)
Scam of a company. Rented a car for agreed price. When I received the invoice they applied extra charges for no reason and now refuse to answer all of my calls and emails. SHOCKING SERVICE
Excellent service and the staff are very nice. BUT... Hertz has too many demands before you can rent a car, it is insane. Hertz has so many demands and they do not trust their custumers so we are currently stuck in Alicante because of this. Hertz needs to loosen their rules because this is very hopeless!! I am never renting a car from Hertz Alicante again. Unless...: They can assure me as a customer that I actually CAN rent a car without proving my 1st grade teachers name and what my grandfather gave to my grandmother for her 60th birthday Nice staff, but the rules of Hertz is killing me.
Great service. I arrived in Alicante at 00.45 in the night, and the person at the desk was very helpful and service-minded. Was upgraded from a Peugeot 2008 to a Alfa Romeo - brand new. The total price at the return was the same as the one shown on the website when I first booked the car. No additional or hidden costs at all. Strongly recommend. But as always, try not to squeeze in between cars where there's barely any extra space. 5 stars, looking forward to rent via Hertz again.
CHARGED ME FOR "SPECIAL CLEANING" 242 euros! I traveled with my dog in the trunk and it was a little bit fur inside, BUT it DOESN'T COST 242 EUROS!!! It costs about 25 euro ,for 59 euro possible to clean the car completely!!! 242 Euro it's unfair, predatory price I demand a REFUND! I Wrote emails to all your offices I'll rewrite a review after satisfaction
Charged me for gas despite me having filled it up to full, and also charged me a one-way fee despite me having picked up and delivered the car in the same location. When I tried to dispute these things, they simply said I was wrong with no proof, and refused to refund me. Terrible customer service, and for that reason alone I would advice you to pick a different car rental agency.
We made our reservation on booking.com, including a full insurance policy. When we arrived at the rental office the guy asked us if we wanted his insurance. We answered we already got full coverage on booking.com and his tone changed completely. He became so rude and we understood he would get us for something to make us pay for that. And that's exactly what he did. When we returned the car, he checked even in the trunk to see if there was something wrong. He checked the car 4 times and then he found an invisible 1 cm scratch on the rear view mirror. He charged us for that and he said "you'll surely get a refund with your insurance, won't you?". Searching on the internet, we found out he did the same thing to other customers just to get some extra money from damage administration fees. I've never met such a shady, rude and dishonest person in Spain. What a bad experience! Stay away from this guy and stay away from Hertz.
After 100+ rental experiences with different companies, this is the worst. You know the look of renter when you don't want extra insurance? The look that says "were going to get you for something..."? I am always careful therefore, even photo documenting cars before I leave. But this time there was an existing scratch UNDER the car that I obviously hadn't checked, which I have 3 witnesses in the car did not happen during the rental. But, since I didn't crawl under the car and pointed out this scratch on the black plastic under the number, they charged me for damages. In their contact with me, they effectively call me a liar. SO, if you end up using Hertz anyway, make sure to check and document status even UNDER the car. And set aside time to go back to the company to meticulously point out every little existing scratch. Insist on video documenting the whole thing, since their main business idea seems to be to charge people for damages that they have not inflicted responsible for, as long as they miss documenting them at checkout. It all seems like part of "teaching" the customers to buy the overpriced insurance they sell. I will never use them again and recommend everyone to avoid Hertz.
