They charge you for damage you haven't done even though you deliver the car in perfect condition. Send you a picture of damage to the car where you are not able to see the registration plate, so might as well be a different car. Will never use this company again.

The Russian chick trying to upsell, fear factor the additional insurance was uncalled for. Took 6 times to tell her I would flat out buy the vehicle if I destroyed it before I paid any additional money for insurance that my credit card company already backed me up on. Totally uncalled for. What kind of syndicate these clowns are tied in with is a joke. Rent somewhere else. Bunch of crooks

We verified our account in advance so, on arrival, we could get our keys from the self service key box. This avoided queueing. We got a free upgrade to a group C car (we had reserved group B). On our return, an agent checked the car over, and the fuel guage, and confirmed that everything was fine with the car and there would be no further charges. The return process only took a few minutes.

Rent for 3 days a new Opel corsa with only 70 km on odometer. Quick pickup of the car with all documents prepared in advance by prior call from the office in Alicante, dropping off the car at night without any personal - is a great option. The only advice is to take lots of pictures before taking the car (even new) to avoid correspondence and explanations if you drop the car without having it checked by an avis employee. But in the end, at all stages of this rental, the staff was very friendly and willing to resolve any problems or questions we may have had.

I can only tell one thing : DO NOT/NEVER RENT with Avis Alicante... 2 months ago we had an accident with our rental car from AVIS and we were not even driving the car, it was parked in front of our holiday house. We had a police report and all costs and expenses would/should be covered by the insurance of the other party or by the AVIS insurance. Instead, AVIS charged us for the towing expenses, they charged us for the taxi back to the airport for a replacement car and they penaltized us because we didn't refuel our broken car... Duuh. Our replacement car was of less quality, the car did not have wipers and we were brought into a dangerous situation when we wanted to clean the front window, only at that time we've found out that there were no wipers... We immediately reported it, but they told us it was our mistake as they were probably stolen... Wipers of a Skoda Fabia stolen within 20 hrs after car pick-up in our calm holiday place??? No, they were forgotten when they were removed the old ones, that's more likely. Customer service is non-existing, after more than 2 months of complaining with emails, reminders, phone calls, ... they just don't reply on our complaint. When you want to book a car (we did the test) they reply immediately, talking to customer service = impossible. Of course all charges are billed immediately through the credit card, getting a refund will never happen! Our 224 EUR rental fee became a rental of over 500 EUR!! UPDATE: NO SOLUTION PROVIDED BY AVIS - THEY REFUSE ANY COMMERCIAL GESTURE...

Upon arrival at Alicante Airport after 10 p.m., additional insurance was offered at the counter that would cover everything except window damage for 36. Afterwards, this amount turned out to be per day, which was not clearly stated. As a result, an unexpectedly high amount was debited a few days after handing it in. The counter employee should have explained this more clearly. The car had some minor damage, including asterisks in the windshield, which were noted on the form. The car has been used neatly for a trip to a port (enclosed area) and back. When returning the car, it was inspected very carefully and new damage was claimed, which was incorrect. Thanks to the expensive insurance, this was not charged, but the additional insurance tax almost doubled the cost of the rent. My experience appears to be no exception. Other reports show that hidden costs, expensive insurance and unjustified damage claims structurally occur at Avis/Budget. Transparency is lacking, and return inspections often appear unfair. Standard responses to complaints do not provide real solutions, which further undermines trust. Conclusion: These types of practices make the risk of unexpected costs too great. I will never choose Avis/Budget again.

Dit had de baliemedewerker duidelijker moeten uitleggen. De auto had enkele kleine schades, waaronder sterretjes in de voorruit, die op het formulier stonden. De auto is netjes gebruikt voor een rit naar een haven (afgesloten terrein) en terug. Bij het inleveren werd de auto zeer nauwkeurig geinspecteerd en nieuwe schade geclaimd, wat onterecht was. Dankzij de dure verzekering werd dit niet in rekening gebracht, maar de naheffing voor de verzekering verdubbelde bijna de kosten van de huur. Mijn ervaring blijkt geen uitzondering te zijn. Uit andere meldingen blijkt dat verborgen kosten, dure verzekeringen en onterechte schadeclaims structureel voorkomen bij Avis/Budget. Transparantie ontbreekt, en inspecties bij inlevering lijken vaak oneerlijk. Standaardreacties op klachten bieden geen echte oplossingen, wat het vertrouwen verder ondermijnt. Conclusie: Dit soort praktijken maakt het risico op onverwachte kosten te groot. Ik zal nooit meer voor Avis/Budget kiezen.

The service during the pick-up (Alicante airport) was excellent: everything was very well explained and fast, but the return in Madrid-Atocha was much lower than expected. The bad: when leaving the Alicante terminal, the warnings came on that something was wrong. After checking and searching, I found the problem: one of the front wheels had a pressure 50% lower than the other 3. I had I had to waste time and stop at a service station to continue my trip.

I have rented a car from Avis several times now. But that was the last time. They always want to sell insurance on site, and Ive already selected one. There was much more damage to the car than documented. But the rental agreement always comes later via email. But what I find really bad and very dangerous this time were the front tires on the car. I once took pictures.

I would like to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent experience with the AVIS rental agency. When picking up my vehicle, the agent took advantage of the language barrier, knowing that I do not speak Spanish, to sell me additional options without my informed consent. Result: I was charged an additional 221, which is unacceptable!! Despite my attempts to resolve the situation, I received no adequate support or refund. I strongly advise against this agency for anyone, especially non-Spanish speaking travelers, as they may find themselves in a similar situation. I recommend being extremely vigilant if you still decide to rent from them. For my part, I will never go back there again.
